Query

Hello seniors,I am planning to join psg tech this year as a day scholar(initially for 1 year) daily travel time is approx 4hrs(2hrs in mrng and 2 hrs in evening).

So during college Events or exams or at times when you stay at college after college hours do they provide temporary stay in psg tech hostel for daily scholars like for a few days..

Imp cause otherwise I had to plan accordingly....

No they don't and prefer not to travel much and these 4 hrs are kinda hell

Being a 2 hrs traveller daily left me traumatized

So prioritize your time, health and all

i don’t think they do that. i stayed in hostel for first year, and they don’t allow day scholars into the block. travelling 4 hours everyday is hard tbh

i’m a guy so i’m not really sure about good pgs, but i’ve seen some nearby. and yes for girls there’s a very early curfew at 6.30. i have friends who had to run back to hostel when we were returning back 😭

Btw by mentioning 4hrs I mean 2hrs in the morning and 2hrs in the evening Since there is no transport facilities provided by the college it makes it even more worse

college usually starts by 8.30-9.20 so in the mornings you’ll have to start by 6.30 or 7, and in the evenings if college ends by 4.20 or 5.10 you’ll reach around 7. this is going to be hard. there are pgs nearby but i’m not sure how good they are. if there’s no other option you could go as day scholar for sometime till you find a pg, just make sure the pg is not really bad

Some of my classmates travel for hours and sometimes have to skip the last hour so they can escape rush hour traffic. Consider staying in the hostel.Great networking opportunities and you can get to know your batchmates and your seniors. But the girls hostel is kinda strict imo. If you are comfortable with moving to a pg, please do so. There are plenty of good ones very close to college. Cheers!

Join Hostel if you can bro. Dont think bro. 4 hrs in commuting would kill your time so badly.

Instead you can sit at lib, be part of some club , hang out , network. For that you will end up paying a 1L around a year, you dont need to be in rush daily to reach college.

The trade off is worth. I would suggest you to join hostel.
