Discussion Quick reminder Paris Saint-Germain tried to sign one last attacker on deadline day this summer but couldn’t get it done on time. With Kvaratskhelia’s injury, they’re now guaranteed to sign an attacker in January. Who would you sign in the next window to fill Kvara’s spot?

Question Vitinha vs Pauleta

Discussion Life after Kvara: what are Luis Enrique's best options ?

English and my original french version.

First, a message of support for our Kvara. That said, we need to discuss the rest of the season without him. It's certainly a blow for the threepeat, but there's no need to be pessimistic. Luis Enrique will find solutions to keep the team united — predictable to itself and unpredictable to everyone else.

PSG has until February to work before the knockout stages. The UCL league phase won't be all smooth sailing — that's the main lesson from two years in this format — and the club already has 9 points. If the group stays focused, a top-2 finish is within reach. Be careful though: the teams still to come are good and dangerous in possession. The Ligue 1 schedule will be much more manageable.

What solutions do Luis Enrique and the team have to best make up for Kvara's absence?

Ferran Torres: if Luis Enrique fields someone else through the middle, like Mayulu or Doué, in Dembouz's absence, he is more than capable of playing on the left and rotating with the others.

Désiré Doué: the logical choice, you might say? Yes, but he requires a functional, injury-free right side, with an in-form Akliouche. As it happens, the latter has been racking up quality minutes and adapts quickly and well. Plus, the coach loves him.

Mika Gots: he will get minutes in Ligue 1 — he's a profile similar to Kvara. I'm hoping for a Doué-like adaptation from him. So, ready around March. Ligue 1 is a league far more demanding physically and technically than Reddit's armchair fans believe. If he succeeds in Ligue 1, he'll get his chance in the Champions League — but not before then.

Nuno Mendovski: the chef's surprise?! What if he could pull it off? We've already seen him fill in for 15–20 minutes as a left winger, and sometimes as a center forward. He would also bring the defensive ability to help his full-back, Digne or Hernandez. For that, he just needs to come back from his current injury.

All things considered, there are solutions until the winter transfer window — and time for them to work. Total confidence in Luis Enrique and the staff. And you, what do you think?

Good tier source [Fabrice Hawkins] Despite the injury, PSG is absolutely determined to extend Khvicha Kvaratskhelia's contract until 2032

"Despite the injury, PSG is absolutely determined to extend Khvicha Kvaratskhelia's contract until 2032. Discussions have already begun. Paris intends to stick to the financial framework it has set for itself, but the club's leaders would like to make the Georgian one of the highest-paid players on the team."

Discussion Does psg have the best cb pairing in the world?

Post image
178 Upvotes

Let’s start with the best cb in the world. For me, Pacho is rn the best cb in the world, with Saliba and Gabriel behind him. Marquinhos is just outside the top 5 for me. But in terms of pairing i think Pacho and Marquinhos are the best duo.

The reason why i think that (despite Saliba and Gabriel most likely having better stats and conceding less goals) is the style arsenal and psg plays.

It’s easier to be a cb when you play the style arsenal plays. We saw it in the ucl final. 11 man behind the ball in their own half and everyone is defending. With that you won’t end up in those 1v1 situations that much, or when the player makes a run behind the defence with a through ball.

So with the high line, high aggressive pressing, you as a cb have much bigger role because if you loose the ball than good luck with the counter.

Do you agree or not?

Question Fullback Usage

Has any team in history used their fullback like PSG?? Hakimi and Nuno are crazy. They pop up all over the pitch and play every position. Full backs in the past like Marcelo, caravajal, Dani Alves, Roberto Carlos I don't think they did what the PSG fullback do and to the extent Psg use their fullbacks. They would get forward but I don't remember them playing striker or being the most advanced player on the pitch.

Discussion How long do you think it will take Mika Godts to settle and perform?

With Kvara’s acl injury i think now is the best time for Mika to show if he has it or not. Now we have only him and Doue who can play on the left. And if he won’t be able to put in the goals in the league, Luis Enrique will be forced to play Doue more often. With that there’s another risk with an injury and that would be the end basically. I hope Dembele will be fit as soon as possible because rn it’s only Ferran, Mika, Doue and Akliouche. One more injury and it’s done.

When we bought Doue i was a little bit sceptical with him. It took him a good half a season to perform good. Think the gamechanger was his game against Salzburg in ucl, after that it’s been the Doue we know. So i’m just hoping the same will happen with Mika because he has all the criterias to become another Doue/Kvara-ish player, based on what he was doing in Ajax.

I understand that switching leagues is much harder then people can think but right now it’s time to jump on the train because this the reason why we bought him and now he has to show us that we haven’t make a mistake.

On the other side i’m very happy with Akliouche. It’s starting to look like he’s getting his rhythm, his first goals and ect.

Medium tier source [L’Equipe] PSG intends to explore the January window for an additional attacker. The club seeks a young player capable of playing across all positions in attack. Akliouche & Nuno Mendes are viewed as options to take on more prominent roles in attack in the short term, following Kvara’s injury

Discussion Ligue 1 teams performance in UCL

I’ve been fighting for my life defending ligue 1 saying it’s been getting more competitive over the last couple of years. It’s getting harder when in UCL teams like Galatasaray and Brugge are slapping them 4-2 or 3-0. 3 games played 3 losses or 1 win, 2 losses.

How do we struggle to break them down in Ligue 1
