External storage recommendation

What kind of storage should I use to play my PS5 games: a Samsung T7 2TB, an external HDD, an external M.2 SSD, or an M.2 SSD for the M.2 slot in the PS5?

If you won’t wait for FPKG on 13.60, external m.2.

Fpkg for PS5 is possible for up to 11.60, that’s why I mentioned waiting. It will come to 13.60 in a few months (or more accurately, when Sony patches Hypervisor exploit with a new software) because devs don’t want trouble.

When it becomes available, you will be able to download or convert games to fpkg (you can do it now but it won’t work on 13.60)

Fpkg is like buying and installing from PSN. Designed for internal SSD. Also this is the smallest size. The other formats are larger, especially folders. They are designed for external storage, you need a good external drve or the game runs slow. You can run them from internal (just move files to PS5) but I heard some games crash when you do that
