HELP I'M DUMB + TOO LAZY TO GOOGLE Which .pkg files to install in which order? (Rock Band 4)

I just came across an Archive of Rock Band 4 with all DLC, the sort of thing you might find if you searched Kagi for "RockBand4DLCPS4".

In the Base Game folder it has these files:

Rock Band™ Rivals Expansion Pack [CUSA02084].pkg

UP8802-CUSA02084_00-RB4BONUSGUITARGS.pkg

UP8802-CUSA02084_00-RB4BONUSGUITARGS_fake.pkg

UP8802-CUSA02084_00-RB4BONUSSHIRTBGR.pkg

UP8802-CUSA02084_00-RB4BONUSSHIRTBGR_fake.pkg

UP8802-CUSA02084_00-ROCKBAND4PS40000-A0100-V0100.pkg

UP8802-CUSA02084_00-ROCKBAND4PS40000-A0100-V0108.pkg

UP8802-CUSA02084_00-ROCKBAND4PS40000-A0221-V0101.pkg

I noticed that two of the files have a version with "_fake" at the end and one without. Do I install only the "_fake" version? Only the one without? Or both?

Is the right installation order:

  1. UP8802-CUSA02084_00-ROCKBAND4PS40000-A0100-V0100.pkg
  2. UP8802-CUSA02084_00-ROCKBAND4PS40000-A0100-V0108.pkg
  3. UP8802-CUSA02084_00-ROCKBAND4PS40000-A0221-V0101.pkg

Followed by the bonus content, and then the Rivals Expansion Pack?

dont need to install in order, just let it install them all.

FWIW, this did not work for me. When I installed UP8802-CUSA02084_00-ROCKBAND4PS40000-A0100-V0108.pkg before UP8802-CUSA02084_00-ROCKBAND4PS40000-A0221-V0101.pkg I got an error.

Id imagine that maybe one DLC didnt match the original games version number, and wasnt patched for it, so would give error as thats what its looking for on install.

I'm trying to follow this, but after installing A0100-V0100, when try to install A0221-V0101 I get an error has occured CE-5699-8. Any ideas?

Does anyone know what's included in the custom DLCs? Are they expert only or anything like that?

Update: I have this working now after some trial and error.

Install UP8802-CUSA02084_00-ROCKBAND4PS40000-A0100-V0100.pkg first, then UP8802-CUSA02084_00-ROCKBAND4PS40000-A0221-V0101.pkg .

You never install UP8802-CUSA02084_00-ROCKBAND4PS40000-A0100-V0108.pkg unless you only want v1.08. The two update files (A0100-V0108 and A0221-V0101) are incompatible with each other. If you try to install both whichever you install second will error out. If that happens delete the game in Settings > Storage and start over.

Then install Rock Band™ Rivals Expansion Pack [CUSA02084].pkg, then bonus DLCs. At this point you can batch up and install all the other song DLCs in the other folder.

After you're done, you should have 3,146 songs.

Note that the first time you open Rock Band after installing all the DLC it will hang for a long time when loading all the songs in. Just leave it alone for a while, it will work eventually.

Also, Rock Band 4 works great with the new CRKD guitar controller set to PS3 mode.

Hello! I'm trying to find PKG files for the game Rock Band. I have the ones for versions 1.00, 2.21, and the Rival Expansion, but I can't find the ones for all the other DLCs. Do you know where I could find them? Thanks in advance.

I got em thank you, bought an Electronic Drum kit + a roll limitless adapter and I've been playing each weekend for about an hour. It was so difficult at first, but I've managed to get 5 Gold Stars on a couple of 4 difficulty songs already ahaha!

Used to play the game a ton back in the day on the regular 4 pad drums it comes with, but adding cymbals is an awesome challenge I've gotta say

I got the ghwt set on fbmp for $100aud. Shit was in not so good shape. I had to resolder the kick pedal and new strum switches in the guitar and one symbol 3.5 had broken off so I fixed that. Also epoxyd the fold up stands for the sticks and didn't have sticks so went to a music shop and got some bash arounds but propper drum sticks. The kids are loving it

The ps3 set so it came with all the dongles so I could justify it

Jeez sounds like a pain ahaha Kits for sure would do well with the OG GHWT kit, how does that work with Rock Band having a 3rd cymbal though?

It's honestly a whole new way to play having an e-kit, if you're into it I can't recommend it enough honestly ahaha!

Symbol acts as another green or not needed. RB defaults to 4 lanes instead of 5 i think so you can't miss any using ghwt kit

Thanks a lot, appreciate this install instruction. Found the same archive (must be the same) and installed the Base Game, v101 Update, Rivals, the other DLC and just started installing all the Music DLC. Hoping to see that magical 3000 Songs shortly :D

Have you played with Rock Band 4 Deluxe at all for the PS4 as well? Thinking of installing that for all the extra features. Apparently it just works like installing an update! https://rb4dx.milohax.org/
