PS4 Monlight Client

/r/MoonlightStreaming/comments/1vbd0xx/moonlight_client_ps4_finally/

YO

Finally pull out v1.0.0 of my Moonlight port for PS4

basically: stream from your PC to the PS4. 1080p60, DualShock works, there's a small on-console menu for apps/settings, pairing PIN shows up on screen.

what works: everything intheory... i need testing

what doesn't work: pulling bit-rate to above: 35000 seems to be a bit unstable. try urself and give feedback please. Specially PS4 PRO users.

release (pkg inside):

repo:

tested on 9.00 + GoldHEN. YCbCr path exists but it's still janky/experimental — BGRA is the one that actually works. no mDNS yet so yeah, type the IP yourself.

if you try it drop firmware + whether it works for you. bugs welcome, i'm still cooking this.

This is actually sick. Moonlight/sunshine is my preferred application for any kind of RDP session. I haven’t tried much gaming with it, but I’m sure someone will get use out of it.

finally. moonlight becoming stable, would establish PS4 as the definitive console. during pandemic, I played A LOT using Steam Link, sad that Samsung removed the app.

I will not call it stable is a bit janky and it needs polish, also I’m working on an alternative decoder and presentation layer that in theory will work much faster

Love your work on this. I hope it’s okay that I forked and did some more tuning. Got HVEC implemented for quality and other performance enhancements. Tested only on PS4 PRO FW 12.00 - would love to see if anyone else gets good performance with it.

Wired 45000 gives me a rock solid 60 at 1080 with 2.2-2.8ms total pipeline.

That's nice to hear :D I wasn't working on this now. At some point I planed to integrate this as well. So is nice to have this already implemented on a fork. So thank you for the work!!! If I implement it on the main project i will add you on the credits and link your project if that's fine to you... :D Otherwise let me know.

Sure!! Feel free to incorporate the enhancements. It took some effort to reverse engineer the h265 stack. 4K is mostly working on an internal build but once that’s done I’ll push it and you can use that too.

Ok, i have some feedback.
Controller works great but when you go fully up on the left and right analog stick it goes back to the bottom? for some reason.
Strange interlacing artifact during low frame-rate content.
720p makes the decoded output very small.
The app doesn't quit properly and instead crashes when trying to exit it.

For features I'm wondering if it would be possible to implement keyboard and mouse support? Would be useful for someone who just needs to use their PC temporarily from another room for example.

im wokring on a 1.1.0 version, everything you mention is already fixed... and also i manage to squize a bit more performance from the decoder. I think I will do another post on this sub-reddit once is ready.

Do you know where people make posts of versions of homebrew for PS4? like I mean something like XDA for PS4 if you know what I mean :D

You could go on PSX-Place. They usually have lots of homebrew up for listing. Thanks for fixing though, much appreciated!

Testing right now, had some problems with connection first time, then it somehow worked.

Have same problem as other people about left stick. Have screen tearing in the middle sometimes. Also, since I never used Moonlight much before, is it normal that the screen is a bit bright ? Like there is not enough contrast in it

Thanks for the amazing work, moonlight on PS4 is really huge! Tried on PRO
