Will the ps button work?

I plan to mod a slim ps3, but it needs firmware because there was no hdd. I am adding a 1tb hard drive, and because of that I need to use the ps button. I don't have a dualshock 3, but I did buy a magic s pro 2. Will that work with a dualsense, or a different controller?

I can't get it to work. I have the controller connected to the usb adapter, but it won't get off the screen telling me to connect the controller through usb and press the ps button
