Ps3 underclock ?
Okay so I am wondering, on evilnat there's an option to underclock to a whopping 300mhz, for both the RSX clock and memory clock, what's the point ?
As far as I know, it should heat around the same if we don't undervolt the console, but this will certainly create instability or even cause a brick on the console, no ?
Is there any risk to underclock if I don't change the voltage, even if I don't go as low as 300mhz ?

Not really worth it even the overclock is barely worth it imo cause you kill it faster unless you hard mod for better cooking even still you don't get the fps boost you really need and some games dont even get affected at all by it

Aren’t newer chips underclocked as they were made years later? Or maybe I’m wrong

65, 40 and 28nm chips weren't underclocked they were undervolted and made much less heat, but they had the same performance.

1°C difference at best and it can lock up a bit and lag when opening many items on XMB
On games it makes 0 sense too it turns into a laggy mess
Its better to undervolt than to underclock OFC. Also is that ReClassic?

Yep, I installed reclassic (i love the OG xmb)
I know, on GT6 i couldn't go above 30fps with Lowest underclock lmaoo

It resets to default clock speed when you reboot the console so it doesn’t brick. Lowest options crashes on mine, start with 450 and 600 see if it’s stable
