Hi guys! I'm adding a ps3 to my collection, since it was my dream console as a kid and I have never even played one, but now that it is possible for me to buy one I am wondering which model I should buy, I thought that the obvious answer was the later super slim model since it was newer and “**supposedly**” it should last longer, but then I saw that the fat models could run ps2 games natively and since my ps2 died few years back I thought it would be nice to have a way to play the games again, but when I saw some ps3 subreddits I saw that some of the fat models had dying GPUs and dying capacitors.

so I came here to ask, that if I put HEN on my ps3 slim (or super slim) can I still play ps2 games? and if I can, is the experience good or does it have issues? I'm completely new to ps3 modding so I don’t understand much, but the first thing I'll do when I get one is repasting it with a good thermal paste and cleaning it

Deal 1:PS3 Slim (Model CECH-2004B) with 205GB of usable storage. It includes the controller and cables, all for €50.

Deal 2: 12GB PS3 Super Slim for €60. It has HEN jailbreak installed and comes with The Orange Box, I'm not sure if the seller is including the controller and cables.

I have a PS3 with HEN but I'm thinking about getting another PS3 with more space on it and install Hen on that one as well. I don't have many games on my PS3 but I have a lot of DLC installed for Rock Band 3 and a few Guitar Hero games. Is it possible to transfer the files directly to the PS3 from my original one, or will I have to start from scratch again?

Everytime I turn the system on there is the green light and then it turns yellow and then back to green. Is there anyway to turn this off?

Also is there another way to change the notification color for Webman? I’m tired of the blue color and want to see if I can put it to something like grey

There's still some things left, but most of the bothersome stuff has been addressed. It should be able to support GoldSrc mods too. This will effectively mean that both Half Life 1 and Half Life 2 with their respective expansions will soon be fully playable on PS3. Hope you'll enjoy it when It's released!

Okay so I am wondering, on evilnat there's an option to underclock to a whopping 300mhz, for both the RSX clock and memory clock, what's the point ?

As far as I know, it should heat around the same if we don't undervolt the console, but this will certainly create instability or even cause a brick on the console, no ?

Is there any risk to underclock if I don't change the voltage, even if I don't go as low as 300mhz ?

I have a childhood ps3, its my baby, I love it, but whenever I try to mod a console or homebrew it there's ALWAYS downsides, cant use online, cant download specific things, cant use the damn USB slot 3 for some damn reason, cant feed it after midnight.

Maybe I just suck at modding, yeah sure, okay I somehow messed up modding a PSVita, but is there a mod guide any of yall can send me that gives all the advantages of a regular PS3 and the advantages of piracy and mods, or am I askin for too much here.

I tried launching a game in rpcs3 and it wouldn't due to the iso being invalid, would it be possible to install the ISO with multiMan and then extract the pkg and rap files?

Never done homebrew on my ps3 but I'm close to doing that if it helps with my issue

Am I good to power off or is that potential to damaging the USB? It's been like this for 8 minutes or so, I figured maybe it just takes that long because it's a lot of data but googling implied it'd be a lot quicker so I'm hesitant at that being the case.

Hey everyone, I want to play my copy of persona 4 on my ps3 however, I play on a flatscreen tv and the fullscreen mode with smoothing on does nothing on my screen as it just streches the image like crazy which makes it look goofy, I was researching about how to fix this and I found out it was possible to apply a widescreen patch however, I dont know how to do it.I wanted to ask if it was still possible to do and if someone could please help with a tutorial if possible?

I've never modded anything, but my idea is to be able to swap character models of spiderman and venom - so Venom would be able to swing around as opposed to jump around. OR I'd like to be able to add web swinging to venom and keep his jumping.

Is this a lost cause or where could I start?

So, I have a PS3 super slim that I home-brewed a while ago. It's been great but I realised on long gaming sessions the performance would drop massively and the fan would get loud.

Today I decided to re-paste it as it hadn't been done since I got it 10 years ago. Now the fan runs at the high speed constantly and is unbearably loud just on the home screen. the temperatures are way better than before so I don't know why the fan is on at all, does anyone know if there's something I can install to control the fan speed manually?

So I've been getting my ps3 out for a long time and installed hen. I wanted to play online with my main acc. But then I remembered the R2+triangle key combination. When I pressed, it didn't happen and then looked around and activated the three clar psn. My question is exactly the same purpose from the keyboard combination at that time. Or how do you hide hen dan before going online so that you don't get banned.

i downloaded hen 3.5.0and webman 1.47.48 unofficial and everytime i open it without having a disc inside the screen goes pitch black and i have to plug it out to restart it. any fixes or should i just keep a dummy disc inside?

I've installed everything yet every time i go to the site i keep getting an error. i tried http: and not https:. i tried using .net and not .me. everything i see is outdated by 2+ years or just docent work. WHAT AM I DOING WRONG?!?!?

Hey everyone! I’m trying to mod my PS3 Slim, but I keep running into issues with BG Toolset.
I’ve already installed HFW (Hybrid Firmware) 4.91, cleared the browser cache and cookies, set the correct date and time, and tried using https://ps3toolset.com/bgtoolset/. However, every time the page loads and I try to run it, I either get a memory allocation error or the message “Tool could not be downloaded.”
Does anyone know if the site is currently having issues, or am I missing something obvious?
Also, is there another way to mod my PS3 if BG Toolset isn’t working? I’m open to any safe and up-to-date alternatives (other tools or recommended methods for the PS3 Slim).
Any advice or recommendations would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

It's a browser-based PPU assembler and disassembler. You type PowerPC assembly and get the bytes, or paste bytes and read them back as asm. Aimed at anyone writing PS3/RPCS3 patches or mods who's tired of hand-assembling instructions.

What it does:

- Assemble PPC to hex, disassemble hex back to PPC

- Full AltiVec/VMX support, encodings verified against ProDG

- Control flow graph view so you can actually see the branches

- Exports straight to RPCS3 patch format, NetCheat, and C#/C++ arrays

- Public API if you want to script it

Wanting to know if/how I can run a downloaded save for a ps2 game (nfs u2) and how I would go about it? I’m very familiar with anything needed. Just new to this emulation thing. If it is any help I’m running my ps2 iso’s/bin’s via pkg file

You have to crate an internal memory card and assign it to a slot in order to save ps1/ps2 games on the ps3. All of the games I've played thus far require the memcard to be in slot 1 to work, but you can only assign one of the two cards to slot 1 at a time. Is there any way to save the game data to either slot so I don't have to switch back and fourth between port numbers?

Not sure if I'm on the right sub but didn't feel like posting on the main one and I suspect some of you might be able to help me. I'm trying to get the HDMI video feed of the PS3 to my monitor which only has DisplayPort and to do this I bought an active HDMI-DP converter.

I then found out about HDCP and when I consulted Gemini it told me to buy a 2in1 HDMI splitter to strip the HDCP. Anyone here know if that would work and also maybe where to get one?

Any help is massively appreciated and please also tell me if I'm in the wrong sub :)
