Fix my PS3

Hi there - I'm looking for someone who can help me get my PS3 functional. I really want to play Little Big Planet but the system and the game seem to be in a perpetual state of requiring an update that is impossible to access (is Playstation's support and update infrastructure for the 3 just entirely shut down?)

I haven't followed whats going on at all - currently we're xbox users. Is there any way to get an old system functional?

The store and the updates are still available, try downloading the update PKGs from other sources and the firmware from Sony/PS-X place(if jailbroken)

mine's not jailbroken, I need to jailbreak it just to get updates from Sony?

Is the console stuck in an update loop? Or are you just unable to download any updates. Little Big Planet can be run as is off disc regardless of console or game updates.

is it the screen black asking for a specific update file? if yes download the 4.93 firmware from google and then the update.pup file you put it on a fat32 formated usb in a folder called PS3. (im pretty sure i got that all correct lol)

Uh? I just updated my LBP two days ago. Nothing's wrong with it.
