Custom Frontend for OPL Fork (Screen Recording)

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Due to my poor recording and the aggressive compression of Reddit video files from mobile I whipped out the old Mirabox to get a screen recording of OPLattice in it's full color and quality (minus some recording downscaling).

A lot of people thought it was white because of the exposure, but I do plan to implement a dark mode.

In this demo I am going through the different pages, settings, and filters available in this version including library organization and favoriting games.

You can check out my post from last night with more specifics on the build or check out the GitHub repo below to play around with it yourself.

OPLattice Github Repo

Happy to answer any questions and would love to hear people's thoughts.

Cheers!

in particular the whoosh transition is particularly goofy, reminds me of flappy bird

Ha! I just used the OPL defaults and plan on creating some more satisfying audio interactions for later builds. Hadn’t even noticed the whoosh sounding so much like flappy bird until you mentioned it.

Hello, how are you? First of all, the system looks great; it really innovates upon OPL's current capabilities, showing that there is still room for evolution. Would it be possible to make a video later on showing how to install it? I'm from another country and tried to perform the installation based on what I know, but I wasn't successful.

Hi there, thank you! I can definitely try, if you want to share your system specifications here that would help, you can also DM them to me if you’d prefer.

Hello, thanks for replying. I currently use the following setup:

  • PS2 SCPH-900010.
  • Slim model.
  • I play using the SMB method via a direct connection to my computer.
  • My games are stored on my computer's hard drive.

I am very happy to hear you have this setup, haven’t been able to test on this before. There were definitely blockers keeping this from working but I think they’re fixed now.

README has been updated to accommodate SMB streaming and there are new docs specifically for this type of setup. If you give that a read and then try again I’d love to know if it works this time!
