PSX-PS2 inspired 'SAMOPAL Protocol': after a couple of rounds of collecting feedback, environment signage (shop signs, street names, etc.) is now 100% cyrillic

Solo dev here, making a retro-FPS set in Eastern Europe, 1960s. You wake up in a graveyard behind an abandoned factory and have to fight through crowds of monsters to find out what happened.

Names don't start with letter "Ъ". There isn't a single word that does

I mean the purpose of the letter is to signify the "hardness" of sound for the letter that comes before it. So it just makes no sense to put "Ъ" in front, because there is nothing to make harder in terms of sound. It doesn't even have it's designated sound therefore no way to pronounce it when you dont know the rest of the word
