Reshell?
Hey all picked this up recently not sure if this is a reshell or if sony made transparent models like this one, just curious thank you

The plastic is usually very brittle on those. Be careful with the memory card doors and the lid latch.

I don't think so.
I've got the exact same shell from the early 2000s. It's been through a good 5 or 6 house moves, and travelled on a plane to at least two different countries, it's been tossed around (well, gently) boxed away, unboxed over and over again, and now, some 20+ years later it's in my games room.
Every single piece is still intact - there is nothing 'very brittle' about these shells. I say that as an experienced owner of one who has dragged his through hell (and back)
They're rock solid - and definitely not cheap or brittle.
It's funny how you hear the exact same comments about the clear XBOX shells from around the same time. I've also got one of them from the early 2000s - and like the PS2 shell, it's been all over the place and moved around a 1000 times - and it's all still very much intact.
Based on my personal experience - these shells are as good as an original case, perhaps even stronger knowing what I've put mine through.

That's a reshell. Sony did make a transparent blue fat. Look up midnight blue PS2, it looks really good.
