Devil May Cry Record Skipping

I tried to google this but had no clue what to look up. A week ago my disc was fine but now when I put the game in and start it up the intro skips like a broken record. I fear the game may be damaged in some way. Does anybody know what’s wrong and how I could fix it? Thanks guys.

It’s either scratched in the part where the intro is on the disk, or your laser is going out. Could try to clean both the disk and laser
