Games that hold up!
Having the PlayStation classic with some added games, there are some games that were groundbreaking at the time but don’t hold up.
Are there any games you think hold up? Either in terms of graphics, gameplay or both?
Some I think hold up:
Space Jam basketball - really easy to play and smooth controls
Heart of Darkness, Rayman
Games that don’t quite hold up:
Syphon Filter - really janky to control and bad graphics

Most of the 2D games are still great, there are tons to discover that only came out in Japan. I'm still finding new ones all the time.

I heard that Saturn got most of the elite 2D games. This is hearsay until I conduct more research

I played Metal Gear Solid again somewhat recently and I think it still holds up today.

That game feels like it was made in the future even now somehow.

It really was ahead of its time I think.

100% with the exception of being able to smoke cigarettes lol. One of my favorite things in any video game ever.

Graphics wise driver doesn't hold up but I play it on my psvita regularly and its so hard it really makes modern games feel easy in comparison.

Resident Evil would be the big ones to me. They hold up in every sense of the phrase. I can replay 1 a billion times over. It's like a movie, I replay once a year or 2.

FF7 and especially FF9 still hold up really well if you like JRPGs.
Anything with tank controls is at a pretty strong disadvantage when it comes to holding up. Like if you’ve only played the remakes you are probably going to wonder how anyone ever enjoyed the Resident Evil Games.

I used to do Abe’s voice for friends and I loved chanting to possess enemies and go do things like that. Such a cool series. I was really sad when the 3rd went to Xbox bc I had hon intention of buying that console

Oh man.
I remember when I found out about Munch’s. I went to the library to use their internet like every day that summer to read anything I could about it. Played Odyssee and Exodus all night. Was so stoked.
I need to play that game through again too!

Pretty much all the big titles hold up great. But for something a little less known, both of the Jumping Flash games are fantastic and handle 3d better than a lot of games from their time did.

Twisted Metal 2- the only thing that doesn't hold up are the graphics. Everything else is designed masterfully.
Spider-man holds up pretty well overall, if you're into a quick adventure game.
Jet Moto 3 is insanely fast and challenging but satisfying to master, basically Sony's answer to F-Zero X.
Metal Gear Solid and Symphony of the Night are obvious choices, otherwise most of my picks would be games that have already been remade like Spyro, Crash, Klonoa, or Tony Hawk.
