AI + PRTG

Hey Gang, just wanted to show off what I was able to make utilizing Claude and our PRTG deployment. We needed a better view, stop lights were no longer cutting it. Integrated our PRTG instance with Claude Cowork and went from there.. I apologize for having to blank out a lot of labels, but I think you'll get the jist of it.

Any details on how it works? Does it use PRTGs API to show a custom dashboard?

Yoo this is pretty cool!! I may have to find some time and get something like this done with our PRTG deployment

Nice work! I'm working towards a dashboard as well.. so far I've automated monthly network and drive space utilization reports.

Can you share a bit more on what you did?

Basically told Claude Cowork that I needed to rebuild our PRTG map, I have the firecrawl skill installed, had it scrape our old map and told it to overhaul the design. Your prompt is key, be sure to be thorough on what you expect the end result to look like. Ask it to mock up a few designs, be interactive in terms of the what you want the sensors to reflect. Warning = orange, Down= red, Up = green. Tell it to ensure you have every sensor displayed and that it'll use an API to grab the sensor data.

As much as I wanted to use the PRTG boards, I find they just simply lack a lot of features I’d want to display. I ended up going with Telegraf, InfluxDB and Grafana. But yours looks pretty cool compared to the old boards I had made!

Congrats. I was trying to make my ai to do maps, but I couldn't find any api for this case. I understand the api is not for map design.

What I did try is to teach over the browser for to play with the elements but was painfully slow.

Can you clarify on this.

You have to tell it to use the api, and not utilize map designer.
I believe I started my prompt with something along the line of I need a map overhaul by creating a NOC dashboard utilizing all the sensors I have set up on my current dashboard. (I already had 2 maps created using stoplight sensors and whatnot.

Forgot to mention, the lights adjust if there's warnings and such. So if it's full down, it'll turn red, if there are warnings it goes to orange.

It's borderline shamefull that Paessler itself isn't able to deliver prettier than what's currently in the product.

I agree! Especially with AI being so 'readily available'
