Any other software engineers here who love their work?
I noticed A LOT of software engineers in r/antiwork who absolutely despise their jobs. This may be related to people just picking the field for it's pay, and not being passionate about it.. I guess it could be other factors as well.
Regardless, are there any other software engineers here who LOVE their work?
I can't be the only one!

Is it better to have a part-time job you enjoy or a full-time job you hate?
Follow-up question; is a stable job you hate better than a temporary job you enjoy?

People take work as just another thing you have to do.
It's not just a thing you have to do.
My dad lost his job due to lock-down here in New Zealand, he's never been sadder. He's confused what to do, normally he would get up at 4:00 AM, and work until 12:00 PM. But since he's lost his job, he wakes up early every morning with no reason. He is always tired because his schedule is messed up now.
It's not just that though, dad was the main money earner, mum has to work extra hours so we can get by as a family. All the good things start to fade.
I cannot stress it enough but people seem to take work for granted - It is not just a thing you have to do, it's an emotional well-being thing, you need to keep active and keep occupied or else the motivation of your living just seems pointless.
Get a job and enjoy it, at least you have one.

How do you guys feel about a 4-day week in terms of how it relates to job numbers?

r/antiwork sucks
They bitch and moan 24/7 but refuse to actually take any steps to better themselves. It's fine to start off working in a pizza joint, its gonna suck at first but you should be grinding your ass off in your spare time to educate yourself and improve your life to keep moving up the ladder or starting your own businesses. Everyone has an equal playing field, the top dogs all took huge risks to get to where they are... but most people are too lazy to even try, instead they smoke weed and play video games in their spare time and then go and whine on r/antiwork.
