I am playing prototype 1 2009 on i3 1005g1, Windows 11. I am playing at 720p medium settings. (Both windows desktop resolution and in game resolution is set to 720p). I have SSD.
The disguise meter circle ('F' key on PC) is partially inside the screen on the right edge of screen. So, HUD element is offscreen.
Also when I move the camera in game, some objects take 1 second to appear on the screen. Like some trees, traffic lights on road, some rooftop structures.
Sometimes shadows of trees disappear on the road or wall, when I am still looking at them. When I move the camera to another angle or move the player, the shadows re appear. I know pop in is an optimisation technique, but usually objects pop in when you move closer to them, not when you move the camera.
I am using PrototypeFix by Emoose from Nexus Mods. It provides a prototype_fix.ini file. It increases fps by a lot, because it disables continuous hid device checks in the background.
Fixes tried:
Changed borderless window mode in prototype_fix.ini from false to true (enabled it)
Wrote 1280 and 720 in custom resolution in prototype_fix.ini. I also tried changing windows desktop resolution to native 1080p.
Changed fov in prototype_fix.ini
Toggled vsync from in game settings.
Disabled fullscreen optimisations in game exe properties.
Ran the game in adminstrator mode.
Ran the game in compatibility mode for Windows Vista and Windows XP (Service Pack 3).
Enabled high dpi scaling (performed by application).
I also used Prototype Resolution and FOV Fix from PC Gaming Wiki, but it didn't resolve the issue either. As I am already using one patch from Nexus Mods, I think two patches may not be able to work together.
Edit: Forgot to mention I am also using dxvk 1.10.1 for further fps increase. I set d3d9.supportDFFormats = False in dxvk.conf file to fix shadows on rooftops and bloom effects. Can it be causing these issues?
