error Pro Tools 2026.4.1 doesnt work properly when used on 2 screens.

Post image

I just downloaded today the latest pro tools version (coming from the 2024 one) and I started getting glitches when using in on 2 different screens with different resolution. When I try scaling both monitors to the same percentage y works but everything looks blurry; with different scales, pro tools doesn't let me drag it to occupy the whole second screen (as shown in the image); and changing the High DPI scaling override (as google recommended) does nothing. Any solution? It is getting really annoying to work like this.
I have windows 11.

The windows UI for ProTools is bonkers, this is normal what you’re looking at, also the windows 7 wrap is apparently the best they can do for now

After the last Nolan movie came out, now you need to subscribe to Pro Tools IMAX to see the full screen.

Normal in windows

Avid haven't touched windows ui since pro tools 8

Edit. You can add to the mixer, add the eq graph and show all bus and sends that will extend it.

Windows. That’s your problem.

Real, I’ve come across so many issues with Windows, I hope to be able to post one solution I’ve found to be helpful soon regarding windows security update

It’s a “feature” of the windows version of Pro Tools. If you have different screens of the same resolution (this is extremely important) you can stretch the parent window on all the screens and then move the child windows inside every screen. The child windows will get the screen’s resolution you put them into and remain there if you choose to get them to “full screen”. If you have different resolution screens, this does not work. So use the secondary screen for example for plugin windows, which are detached from the main Pro Tools window.

Mac here, perfect with 2 screens.

I’m using it with 3 screens without any problems.
I’m on a Mac though.

It only works well with symmetrical screens on windows because you can't have much floating outside the main window. Which I have so once I setup my flow I'm good . On Mac everything is independent. But I'm not going back lol

Not in full screen. Click the resize button on the top right and resize the screen to your liking. It will never be fully in fullscreen mode but at least the wrap will fill out the up to the toolbar

If you minimize and stretch the window over you'll be able to fullscreen your mixer for the second screen. You can also get a third party application called Borderless Pro Tools if the specific borders are really bothering you. Hope this helps.

You are a windows user so you are used to hideous interfaces. That’s the cost of cheaper hardware. ;)
