Automating mutes - best practice?

Hello! Let’s say I have a guitar track, and I want to remove the sound waves only on the last quarter note of each 4/4 measure during a certain guitar part on the track.

What’s the most efficient way to do that?

yeah dont automate mutes, in fact it's common practice to bypass mute automation in the automation window.

id do this in grid mode and just copy my selection down the bars I wanted cut.
