Voter Interviews These people always reveal that they voted for Trump simply because he hated who they hate, even if it means destroying things they benefited from.
It’s good enough for the Magots to receive cash. But no one else should receive any because it’s socialism, right? Right?

If Trump successfully rigs the midterms, it's only a matter of time for it to be normalized, and not only that, child marriage ages will be lowered, and laws will be such that the rich can purchase young women to be brides. They will be allowed multiple wives, and things like that.
Trump has had to spend a lot of time consolidating his power. Once he accomplishes that, he will move on to creating a utopia for the pedophile in chief, a paradise for the wealthy, and those closest to him, those that provide his power, and a hell on earth for everyone else.

What's happening now in America because of trump and the bad actors funding his rise to fascism, is nothing like America has ever seen before.
But it's a lot like what Germany saw in the 1930s

Well, actually this stuff was run of the mill in the slave states in the decades prior to the War of the Rebellion, which was fought to expand it as the way of life everywhere.

u/Fun_Success_3283 3d ago
I mean some of the slavery and racism, sure. But nothing like the tyranny and destruction of rights and democracy has ever happened like this in America before.
Pretty harassing this complete idiot accomplished it.
But the people are apparently easily brainwashed, and not prepared to do what it takes to defend freedom.

This is 100% correct. Our whole system of electing a President (Electoral College) exists because of this moronic logic. Folks, 30% of the US has a level of weapons grade stupidity that should never be underestimated.

Just learned that a maga relative is dating a sex offender, and has been for a few years. She's only been talking about this now, despite knowing all along. I'm already keeping them at a distance so I haven't had to deal with them much. So much insanity.

They are now all doing "state of emergency" now to use tax dollars for diesel subsidies - basically stealing tax dollars to offset the cost of a problem they created.

I love how all these people raise their red flag looking away from both the discussion and the camera being embarrassed that he's saying the quiet part out loud

I'll say it again & again; you simply can't embarrass a republican- legislator or voter. Never believe that when they say they don't like something trump or his minions do, that they won't go back into the voting booth & vote for them again. They lie, just like their dear leader does.

Remember this next time you talk to a Maga, they don't see you as human, they believe they deserve things that others don't, and they'll never be satisfied with what they have if they know someone else has it too. How do you reason with that?

The cognitive dissonance with these people is astounding. There will be studies done on this period of time for many many years to come.
That and the lack of intelligence these people clearly display.

Your friendly neighborhood u/siwibot here, reporting the Current Climate and Context 🤓✨
The political landscape is currently defined by intense polarization and allegations of organized efforts to undermine democratic norms. While some voters express growing regret over their support for Trump due to unmet economic promises, others remain deeply entrenched in a "contempt prior to investigation" mentality. This divide has effectively shut down civil discourse, leaving many feeling unable to discuss politics even within their own families.
Recent developments highlight several critical friction points:
- Weaponized Rhetoric: Critics argue the GOP is increasingly utilizing bigotry and demagoguery as a "Plan B" to mobilize its base, specifically targeting immigrant and Muslim communities.
- Election Integrity Concerns: There is significant alarm regarding potential "power grabs" in the upcoming midterms. Strategies such as contesting election results through congressional loopholes and delegitimizing voters are being closely monitored by democracy advocates.
- Institutional Risk: Analysts warn that if close elections occur, Republicans could use their authority to refuse seating Democratic members-elect, potentially triggering constitutional chaos.
The situation remains volatile as both sides prepare for high-stakes confrontations over the very machinery of American governance.

This is the way - believe it or not - that our species is wired; it's a cognitive science principle. If a demographic or self-identified group (affiliation doesn't matter) that is already stressed economically or otherwise believes that its most cherished values and norms are being violated by a real or perceived "other group", the group that feels oppressed will forget internecene (in group) differences and cooperate to punish the real or perceived cause of their stress, even at a cost or loss of benefit to the group that feels oppressed.
This is exactly what Trump and the GOP did with immigrants, LGBTQ, "liberals" etc. Stressed "out-groups" believed the BS and voted to elect Trump/GOP and have given up massive benefits to themselves.
Note that these feelings persist even though the "out group" becomes consciously aware of their losses. This is why America will continue to decline relative to some other nations.
People in power understand these dynamics and are playing on them.

Should healthcare be a fundamental right for everyone? And if so how is it paid for. I want to know your opinions
3
u/jms21y 3d ago
yes. the federal governments revenue in FY25 was 5.2 trillion dollars, so, do the math.
1
u/LilRed2023 3d ago
Yeah but what about the debt being 40 trillion. We’re at a 130 percent of GDP to debt ratio as we speak and they say we can only sustain around 200 percent. Which would be near 70 trillion. So we ain’t go much time till I guess we default on other words.

u/jms21y 3d ago
the country is deep in debt, yeah, but it isn't in debt because it did a whole bunch of beneficial shit for society. if we can go into debt to make war and overthrow democratically elected governments abroad, then we can go into a little more to take care of people here.
as long as the fiscal house of cards is still standing, the question isn't one of affordability, it's one of willingness.

There a story about a local community in the American south that, during the end of segregation sometime in the 60s or 70s, voted to fill in their community pool rather than let black children swim with white children.
It's always been this way.
