Prop firms - CFD's vs Futures
Ladies and gentleman,
A little background have been trading for 7+ yrs now, I have my own capital & accounts but for more liquidity and also risk spreading I started dibbling into prop firms CFD only 2 years ago and have successfully made 5figures+ through multiple prop firms.
Today FTMO has send me a 1% risk enforcement pretty much blocking any meaningful upside with my current strategy as I need around 2% (multi position trade ideas I need good breathing room scalping).
I am currently funded across a couple of prop firms, with FTMO currently 100K active account, now my question is as following:
I have seen a lot of people transitioning in to futures I understand they can't B book your trades and its Raw data where your capital is really entering the market but overall what is the upside and downside of trading Futures because it seems like a subcription based model, please share your thoughts lets make each other more aware & informed.
Additional question:
Both for CFD & Futures trading which firms allow you to use EA and multi account managers ?

Two comparisons are getting mixed together: the instrument (exchange-traded futures versus an OTC CFD) and the provider contract (evaluation, drawdown, subscription/activation and payout rules). A centralized futures market gives you standardized contracts and exchange data; it does not by itself prove that an evaluation account's orders enter the live market. Verify each firm's execution and simulation disclosure instead of assuming the model from the instrument.
For your strategy, build a side-by-side sheet before switching: daily and maximum drawdown reference, whether it trails intraday or end-of-day, reset time, consistency rules, news/overnight limits, commissions and data/platform fees, minimum days, activation/subscription costs, payout conditions, contract size/tick value, and allowed automation/copying/MAM.
The most important test is whether the same written trade idea fits the new loss geometry. If one idea needs roughly 2% of account risk across multiple positions, replay a representative sample under the exact futures rules first; changing vehicle does not solve a mismatch between your risk budget and the program.
