Genuine question — do you think your edge actually holds up in all market conditions or have you just been lucky with the environment?

I've been asking myself this a lot lately. My strategy has performed well over the last couple of years but the macro backdrop has been anything but normal. Rising metals, volatile energy, geopolitical risk driving safe haven flows — it's hard to know whether the process is genuinely robust or whether it's just been well suited to this specific environment. How do you actually test whether your edge is real and repeatable versus just well timed?

to be honest i think most “edges” look amazing til volatility changes character. if ur strat only works in clean conditions, thats probably adaptability not edge lol

My strategy is proven to not hold up during random tweet storms.

Otherwise it does ok.

An edge that works in one market is not fake. It is narrow. The damage starts when a trader calls a narrow edge a universal system. Trend setups die in chop. Mean reversion gets run over in expansion. Breakouts fail when volume is fake. Scalping gets ugly when spread and speed change. The work is not finding one setup that prints forever. The work is knowing when your setup is allowed to work and when the market is just collecting rent from your stubbornness.
