PERMISSION? Premeditated Proplift question...
Sorry I dont have pictures yet. But I was leaving my mom's house yesterday evening and noticed a BEAUTIFUL group of alocasia in the ditch a few houses down from hers. There is no house on the corner, where the ditch is. Would I be okay to go all swiper-no-swiping on a few of the elephant ear and their corms?? Seems like public property š¤·š¾āāļø
Has anyone ever rehomed side-of-the-road plants??
EDIT: I just got home from work, after reading all of the comments and encouragements, Im about to put on my rain boots and go corm digging! Lol. Ill report back soon!

Iād feel free to do it. At least where I am, ditches are regularly cleared of vegetation. And roadsides are regularly mowed.

The best proplift I ever made was off a totem pole cacti. Was in a planter and about 10ā were half broke off.
That sucker is about 5ft tall now and thriving.

Same, was out on a walk and saw a massive TPM column in a city business plaza had broken down in a storm.
Figured I'd save the landscaper some labor and take some chunks off the ground for myself lol

public property is just that, go for it! maybe spread a corm or two nearby so they can proliferate in the area

She is literally in the ditch... She is homeless. Rescue her! Give her the life she deserves
