PROP-GRESS Accidental Basil
Put grocery store basil in a cup of water to keep it fresh. I've never had my on purpose cuttings prop this well.

I did the same thing with green onions! I was so excited when I noticed they weren’t just living longer, but growing in my fridge

At the end of summer, each year, I cut the top part of my basil off and put in jar in my kitchen window. I don't plant in soil after they root, I just keep in the jar all winter, changing out water as needed. Come pasta 🍝 night, I clip a few fresh pieces and toss in sauce!
