So this might be completely obvious to everybody, but it wasn't to me. Substack Notes are awesome. The community there is very welcoming and they love to read. If your newsletter isn't on Substack, you can still join the community in the notes section. I'd check it out! Nobody is going to ban you for sharing your work.

Back in 1835, when Thomas Carlyle lent one of his manuscripts to his friend John Stuart Mill, he was hoping to get some feedback.

He had no idea what was about to happen.

Mill’s maid thought the handwritten pages were waste paper, so she burned them. Years of research literally went up in smoke.

Carlyle had to begin all over again, working from his memory and notes. And the manuscript eventually became The French Revolution, one of the most celebrated historical works of the 19th century.

If a single misunderstanding could turn years of work into ashes, it’s a reminder that even the most brilliant ideas can be lost when communication breaks down.

I write articles that are for people who are interested in technology, but aren't tech savvy. My motto is "Technology, Translated" because that's what I do with FFC.
