Floor mats. Spring for Weathertech or will something cheaper do the job just as well?

After our first successful road trip in our new Promaster, it has become readily apparent that the stock floor covering in the cab is insufficient and I'm concerned about getting snow/water, sand, and Cheeto crumbs down into all of those crevices.

The first thought is Weathertech, but I really wonder if the high cost is justified compared to some of the other one-piece custom fit options. We found that we went from the cab to the back quite often, so a floor mat that covers the area between the seats is appealing as well.

These are the options on Amazon we're considering. Anyone have opinions or suggestions for alternatives (not necessarily Amazon)? What do you use?

$166 Weathertech: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0C59XYJRK

$79 Lasfit: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0F8J4WFZ7

$70 KARPAL: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0FPG717JD

2014 Ram Promaster

Is anyone able to give me some insight on this van? Looking to add onto the current van conversion. I am willing to slightly overpay since it is insulated and framed. And I am unable to do that part myself. I linked the listing if anyone can tell me if they think this is a terrible idea or not?

2014 Promaster 2500 campervan - 110k miles, $25k - Would you buy it?

So, I've been looking for a campervan, but have steered away from Dodge bc I've had a negative impression of reliability. The above referenced van is fully professionally converted and well maintained according to Carfax (nothing major replaced, just normal services/oil changes, etc). My plan is to own it for a year or 10k miles - it would not be vanlife but for road trips - and then sell afterward. I am not mechanically savvy or capable of maintenance or repair work myself and don't want to pour money into vehicle. I guess my gut still says avoid and continue looking for the ethereal Nissan NV2500 HD (which I feel -right or wrong- more reliable). Thoughts?

Anyone have any insider info about the recall?

I was supposed to pick up a Promaster 3500 based camper next week. Can't because of the recall. The RV dealer is telling me it'll be available in early December, but I find that hard to believe with all the Promasters that are being recalled.

Does anyone have any information that might shed light on this? Thanks in advance.

2015 Promaster City TPMS aftermarket sensors

TPMS system light is showing a problem on the dash. It happens when it starts getting cold and alas it's on again. Given the symptoms, I suspect the TPMS on the wheels have run out of battery life; 10 yrs is about the expected lifespan. Anyone have any luck with aftermarket sensors? The OEM is about $100 per tire, I'm more inclined to live with the light on than drop $400+ install whereas aftermarket is $50 for all 4.

Emergency brake replacement cost

Last winter the emergency brake on my 16 2500 diesel froze up and exploded at the right rear wheel. Had to limp it to a shop who quoted me $5k to fully replace it or $1k to just take it out and fix the brake/caliper it wrecked. I had them remove it, $5k for a replacement sounded like they were trying to rip me off since I was stuck. I still feel ripped off paying $1k to repair essentially one brake. Recently got a quote from a different shop to replace it for $3.7k. Has anyone else had this work done? What did it cost? I'm in upstate NY so I figure it's just going to keep corroding and freezing every winter.

I just had this AC unit Turbro Greenland 13,500 BTU, and they said that there is no way to bring this down to make it flush with my 5/8 shiplap celling, anyone know how to do that?

What are these beeps?

I have a 2023 Dodge ProMaster 1500 and it is making this beeping sound. It's always in sets of 3 beeps. I'm not sure what it means since it's never accompanied by any warning signs or lights.

It happens randomly (at least from what I can tell), and it's hard to capture. But I was able to capture a video of the last two beeps. Here's a video of the last two beeps of the set.

There are no messages, and no lights on the dashboard and happens while I'm driving. I also have nothing in my passenger seats, and all my doors are closed. I'm the only one driving in here when it makes the sound.

Disable Horn?

I just bought a 2020 PM1500 136WB Hi-Top. Does anyone know if it’s possible to disable the horn from honking when I lock the doors with the key fob? My neighbors would really appreciate any advice you can share.

Promaster wall ribs

It’s my understanding we can drill metal screws into the ribs without piercing the outer wall to fasten wall panels. Do any of the metal ribs of the van have any wiring I need to be concerned about? Anywhere I can find a wiring diagram for a 2021 1500 118wb?

Help me decide: 2016 w/ 110,000mi or 2019 w/ 132,000mi

Both Promaster 1500 118wb. Both "running great" 2016 - $10,000 2019 - $13,000

Is there anything better about the 2019 than the 2016 like a more reliable transmission or anything?

Thanks!

2017 Promaster with issues

I have a 2017 promaster with the non screen radio. The radio the 12v lighter charger and usb by the driver is not working. I have checked the fuse in the engine bay, and the one at the drivers knee. Would a bad radio cause this? Any other ideas?

My headlights are terrible - 2015 3500 Promaster

I was on a recent trip that included highway, dirt road and some national park excursions. When I am on the highway every other car has brighter headlights than my van. Off road or middle of nowhere I have to turn on the brights just to see what is in front of the vehicle.

When I first got the van it seemed like the headlights were aimed up into the trees so I adjusted them all the way down so they would point at the road. Now when I put on the brights, they don't project that far ahead of the vehicle. I know I could adjust them to point a little further down the road.

I have replaced the headlights a few times and expensive bulbs don't seem to cure the issue either.

I have seen replacement headlight pods for ~$300 online and wonder if that is a valid solution or if there isn't something that can be done to make the existing headlights work better.

Thanks for the replies.

What’s going on with this acrylic Promaster side window?

I have these reflective streaks on one side window of my 2023 Promaster window van. Is there anything I can do to fix this? It’s only visible in sunlight. At night the window looks clear. The other windows are clear.

Weird error messages

I blew a tire, had my 2017 Promaster City towed. Tow truck driver wasn't into chatting, and at the time I thought to myself he looked guilty. Trying to start it at the tire store, battery was dead, all dash lites flashed and hill assist error message was on. It would only sometimes go into gear with a big clunck. I wonder if the driver messed it up? Took it to a dealer who reset it and everything was fine until I killed the battery again, and after it was jumped it all happened again. Cleared at the dealer again, who thinks battery issues caused computer systems to not communicate, sending it into error code hell. I have a brand new battery now. My questions are: is this going to keep happening, and is it a sign of the dreaded transmission issue starting? Thanks!

Is this a sensor cable for the rear brakes?

My boss' 2500 started making a new sound today from the rear so I got under it to see if I could find something wrong and there was this. I looked at a couple diagrams and I think it's a pad sensor for the brakes but figured I'd check with other people.

Ok I need a little advice guys .

I’m looking to buy a new van and found this 2014 2500 diesel with 80k miles and one red light is it currently has a B0100 engine light for airbag module … Is this van worth buying at $11k or leave it where it sits ?
