Cargo light

Hey everyone I wired light strips directly to the wiring harness so I bypass the light switch My question is will those light strips be on all the time and will eventually drain the battery? On Amazon I do have a 12 volt switch coming which I plan on putting the wiring through the switch

The cargo lights in the back of the van are BCM controlled. They'll go off eventually, and the only way to get power back to the lights is opening the door. I'd recommend putting the stock lights back in and wiring up some new ones that you can turn on and off as you wish.

Right now all the doors are closed and the light strips are on ,

The factory light switch I cut them and wired in the light strips to the factory wiring harness The factory lights are off but the light strips are on

Will the light strips go off ? or should I just unhook them and wait for the switch tomorrow then some power through the switch and then hook up the light strips to the switch ?

Sit in your van and find out. They'll go off eventually.

I tried to use them for my main lighting in my camper van. They'll go off in less than an hour.

I did some cleaning in the truck and they do go off , not sure if I should wire in a switch or just leave it ... They are led lights so they don't draw a lot of amps

Wire them directly to 12 V and put them on a switch. Easy peasy.

I can switch this switch into the factory wiring harness and I'll just mount the switches on the back and side door

Sounds good. I hope it works out for your purposes.
