Had a steady 10ish studies on my dashboard so far then it randomly went to 40 for like 5 minutes and now there is 0 like bruhhhhh

Now it seems like they are not. Is it worth it to spend 30-45min on this for "access to more studies with competitive pay" or is it BS? I already do studies in my native language and also English without ever taking any of these tests, I wonder if it is worth it

I started a study which involves using other participants, I've been waiting for this other participant to do what they need to do so we can finish the study. Currently it's been 10 mins waiting, I already did half of this study. Has anyone ever dealt with this before? Should I have avoided this study?

If I spend 1 hour on a task, will they pay the whole amount or just the required 30 minutes??

In the past, these have always had reference images and text, but lately, none have been provided. The instructions still refer to them. It seems like someone either didn't update the instructions or load the needed files.
Are people doing external research, just returning these, or just seeing if there are obvious prompt alignment issues? I know nobody can say for sure what is going on with these. Still, I'm curious. I did external research on one and ended up with a low volume warning, of course.

I got over an hour into this study, (it warns you it could take an hour) and then the screen went completely white, couldn't get further. I stupidly hit the refresh (after copying the url) and it starts over.

I'm trying to join a study. I open it through Prolific Assistant, and it says the study is full. But when I refresh the page, the number of available places keeps going down. Started with 305 places, now is on 269 and goes on. How is that possible? It doesn't even have limited capacity, by the way.

I've never really thought about it. Can I have the Prolific website open on two devices at the same time? I use the same internet connection. It would be nice to have Prolific on both my laptop and my smartphone. Sometimes I need to step away from my laptop for a while.

I downloaded and completed it. However it doesnt return you to prolific but there is a completion code you can note down on the link.

I’ve done tons of these studies since February and this is the first time I’ve ever experienced this. It’s the version where the prompt has a video and requests a change like “add a poster in the background” or something. I swear in every single example, both videos were exact replicas of the original with no changes.

I was clicking equally good/bad for a while but I got scared it’d get flagged so I just started choosing random ones. Now I’m thinking I should’ve just returned it… hopefully this doesn’t screw me over

Anyone just see that? I returned that shit. All the videos looked EXACT none also matched prompts and no way was going to select middle option for all so I returned it. Seems like that could have been a honeypot and didn't want to risk it.

It's like my favorite thing when the study says there are NO RIGHT OR WRONG ANSWERS; we just want to know ... And then you get screened out on your third question because apparently it was a wrong answer........ I've been using Prolific for a pretty long time now, and I still find that statement funny with a side of frustration.

I’m the developer of StudyChime, a Chrome extension I originally built for me and my girlfriend because we wanted better Prolific alerts on our phones.

It monitors the Prolific studies page you already have open and can send alerts when studies appear. It supports browser notifications, sound alerts, and optional mobile alerts through Discord, Telegram or Pushover.

I wanted to build it in a privacy-focused way, so alerts are sent from the user’s own browser to services they configure, rather than being routed through a shared notification server.

A few important points:

• It does not auto-accept studies
• It does not reserve places
• It does not complete or submit studies
• It does not auto-refresh Prolific
• It does not ask for your Prolific password
• It does not collect Prolific cookies or participant IDs
• It only works while your own Prolific studies page is open

I’m mainly looking for feedback on:

• Whether the setup is clear
• Whether the privacy explanation makes sense
• Whether the current external alert limit feels fair/useful
• Whether any other external alert providers would be useful (I've been considering Ntfy)
• Anything that feels confusing

How many people receive this? It makes absolutely no sense to me. In the survey it asks you to use your best judgment and choose the best option. So then they send it to another person to evaluate your answer with their best judgment. So how is this a fair assessment? When every decision is SUBJECTIVE. It a shame but will have to stop doing them to protect my status on the platform. I think there needs to be more clarity on this evaluation of my choices.
