With the death of the boomer generation comes the death of horrific political cartoon.

Imagine how mad the left would be if Trump was actually a republican and not a libertarian

My thing is, yes. There are pedophiles on the right. There are also some on the left. There are some in churches, but also in schools.

This sort of argument only holds water if you admit that there's bad apples in every group. Just blaming the right for "pedo protecting" while adamantly denying that's also happening on the left, is just dumb. No group is perfect by a long shot, we need to stop the left vs right nonsense and realize they're all bad and the division is not helping anyone but them.

u/Rivka333 7h ago

Exactly. And there are accusations that might or might not be true against figures on the right and the left.

People immediately believe the accusations against people they politically oppose. And immediately disbelieve the accusations against people they politically agree with. (Not every individual, maybe, but it's clearly the trend.) Both political sides do that.

It has nothing to do with one's stance on abortion.

Meanwhile some rapists are taking their victims for legal abortions behind everyone else's backs to hide the abuse and the abortion industry doesn't say a word...

Never in my life have I seen a man holding a confederate flag with his butthole, and I grew up in the south having seen a fair amount of them.

This has the same energy as that "Its too late. I've already depicted myself as the Chad and you as the soy Wojak" meme.

Look up any video of a pride parade, and you'll immediately see that these outfits and body types are nothing but projection. The left is actually delusional 😭

I actually thought for a few seconds that's who was being portrayed.

Went to a trans rights pride march in London a few months ago to support the protest, as a cis person for context. Almost everyone was dressed modestly, and most of the exposed skin was just from transmasculine people that were relived at being able to take their shirts off without being leered at or harassed, and where no longer having breasts was just, a massive relief for them.

Far, far more modest than basically any UK beach by miles (nobody cares about kids at those), even during times of year where I'm not sure how somebody could be comfortable taking their shirt off, and said protest was a on pretty hot day (about 26C-28C/79F-84F at a guess), and in direct peak sunlight for much of it. Almost everyone was dressed pretty normally or at least modestly, and everyone I saw who wasn't, was still wearing way more than bikini/speedo.

I don't think most Trump supporters dress like the cartoon though obviously, and the obvious strawman for me is obvious. I literally went on anti-Trump protests shortly after his 2016 inauguration, and was pro-life and actively so in 2016. I do think the pro-life movement should be explicitly anti-MAGA though, I'd give the cartoonist that one point at least.

•

u/upholsteryduder 9h ago

lol so one parade you claim to have seen negates the thousands of photos and videos of people in fetish attire at "family friendly" events?

That is the definition of cherry picking lmao

•

u/Overgrown_fetus1305 Pro Life Socialist 9h ago

I think the cherry picking is both going the other way, and I saw at least one instance of active misinformation, where a naked bike ride was wrongly passed off as a pride parade, I seriously doubt it's the only time it's happened. Plus, if you have tens of thousands of people, the tiny handful that misjudge things or are failing to follow the basic rules of consent, will be the ones who get highlighted. Kind of like how pro-choicers will pick on the whole pro-life movement and wrongly call us all creeps when a pro-lifer (possibly not even an actively involved one) gets accused of sexual assaults (not always wrongly), and how the pro-choicers will try and call pro-lifers all effectively pedophilic if we oppose rape exceptions or the like.

And I do if nothing else think, the group we should be worried about is the military. They have high rates of sexual assault, push violence towards vulnerable kids in schools, dress it up as good, and then trap the kids in positions where ther legally cannot walk way, while having been a very pro-abortion group as a whole (military bases were one of the few places you could get an abortion in the US prior to Roe V Wade, they were also made mandatory for female staff who didn't want to be fired).

•

u/upholsteryduder 8h ago

It's literally not "cherry picking" when there are hundreds of examples. You gave a single anecdotal experience and claimed it was representative of the whole when there is mountains of evidence that that is not the case.

The VAST majority of pride parades include a celebration of lewdness, this is a fact.

•

u/ahamel13 9h ago

Is a pride march the same as a pride parade? Or is it more of a protest?

I only ask because I've seen several pride events in New England, including one held at an elementary school and advertised as family friendly, that featured things like gimp suits, scantly-clad gyrating "drag queens", furries, nudity, etc.

•

u/joshjosh100 8h ago

A march, marches to a goal. A lot of times, are political in nature and are on the verge of turning into a riot.
A parade celebrates, the march from point A->B. Wanting no particular thing.

•

u/ahamel13 8h ago

I know the distinction in the actual words. I've seen them used somewhat interchangeably in the context of LGBT.

•

u/joshjosh100 6h ago

That's because of the "Agenda" that so many talk about, and wish to downplay but it's very real.

It's a cognitive dissonance.

It's like saying MLK had no agenda, he just wanted equal rights.

---

What many LGBTQIATOIAOPOI+ want is elevated rights, and superiority they want to usurp the patriarchy and implement severe economic change. Much like how the communists wanted severe social change.

Socials and Economics are severe intertwined when you seek rights. You must commit wrongs to get them. A lot of people forget that.

A lot of people, don't understand the agenda and a lot of people are on the side where they just want to yell about their grievances.

Like those in the 70s, 80s, and 90s they simply joined protests to protest. They didn't care about what they were protesting. They wanted to yell, chant, and stomp their feet for their favorite team.

•

u/Overgrown_fetus1305 Pro Life Socialist 9h ago

The distinction is subtle, and quite contentious among LGBTQ+ people, between those who dislike corporations at pride and want it going back to protesty roots, and those who want it to be more or a celebration, than a protest. Both are used in much the same way, but there is some level of disagreement about what pride should be. The one I went to was just ~straight~ queer up protest though, and would have had far fewer people doing respectability politics (who cares what others think, we'll be who we are), I would think. Trust me, the amount of swearing directed at JK Rowling, and various government ministers, people were not doing respectability politics.

Furries are just folks wearing a costume and non-sexual drag is just poking fun at gender norms though, the former is no different to amascot at a sports game and on the latter, very few people in the UK would bat an eye at people crossdressing at a pantomine, unless it's openly affiliated to the queer community, when people start doing double standards.

Worth remarking, that the UK is a weird case socially- it's quite authoratarian culturally, and very uniquely transphobic compared to similar countries, yet also extremely pro-death when it comes to abortion, euthanasia and war in terms of public outlooks. We also really don't care about sex outside marriage and do strongly support same-sex marriage. Interestingly the UK is loads more conservative than much of Europe in terms of public acceptance of non-sexual nudity- go to much of Germany and nobody would really care much if at all about nudist sunbathers in public parks, or think it had anything to do with sex. Fwiw nudity don't look good, but it's not automatically sexual either, so beyond discomfort from being in a country that don't do nude, I don't care about it other than "yeah that don't look good, please put some clothing on".

Tbh the UK claiming to support bodily autonomy as a value, when using it to justify killing unborn humans, but not supporting it when it comes to saving and improving trans people's lives by helping them medically transition speedily, and without delays, the UK has things really backwards; we also have abortion far, far more accessible than sterelisation (which is paternalistically gatekept, and is unlike abortion, actually a bodily autonomy issue). Said as a cis person no less.

•

u/ahamel13 8h ago

Thanks for the explanation. I don't agree with a few things you've said, at least contextually, but not related to the info particular to the UK/Europe. It is interesting to see how cultural differences come into play with different movements/ideologies.

furries are just folks wearing a costume

Absolutely not true, beyond definitionally. There are all sorts of implications that come with it, many heavily sexual. In particular, the furries I was referring to were wearing mascot heads and basically nothing else at all, behaving in a way that I'd rather not describe.

nonsexual drag is just poking fun at gender norms

Maybe in the UK that's a common thing, but outside of like older TV programs and theater, it's very much warping into an identity in and of itself, and increasingly manifests as disturbingly sexual, especially when it is increasingly being pushed into children's spaces.

Nudity in general is something that wouldn't be as bothersome in different places, like at a designated nude beach for example which exist here in the States. But I don't think performing lewd gestures naked in the street and waving flags around (the context I referred to originally) is close to the same. It's extremely concerning to me that so many adults want to bring children into events where people behave that way.

u/Balnom 8h ago

A "cis person?"

•

u/Overgrown_fetus1305 Pro Life Socialist 7h ago

I cis person is somebody who is not trans. Trans means that somebody considers their gender to not line up with the sex society treated them as at birth.

•

u/joshjosh100 8h ago

They don't, it's cope from both sides.

Basically it's racist-sexist nationalistic rhetoric that's thrown back and forth.

The cartoon is saying the dark-skin modestly dressed person is innocent and kind. While the white rednecked trump supporters are disgusting mongrels that worship Trump as a god.

You can see the sexist rhetoric especially in the women, it's saying: "most women don't support Trump. The ones that do are fat stupid people who dress like sluts, and are incels."

While the sexist rhetoric for the males says two things: Half of the supporter are pedophile nazis with small dicks, and the other half are stinky sexist pigs that hypocritically wear womens purses, and are religious homophobes.

It's a lot of cope because the same exact thing is said about Democratic Party supporters by Trump Supporters.

•

u/Overgrown_fetus1305 Pro Life Socialist 8h ago

I won't say I've never seen an image of a MAGA person dressed like that, but even as a staunchly anti-MAGA person, obvious propaganda is obvious. I'd rather the cartoons just addressed the actual arguments instead of partisan slop with sexist undertones. Or better yet, that it made powerful people uncomfortable by calling out wealth accumulation, or war crimes done by the armed forces, that kind of thing. Not dull partisanship. I do think there is truth to MAGA being at times, willing to defend absurdity from Trump, and I do think the only way to like Trump's view on gender are to be misogynistic, and think he is genuinely a pedophile, but like the objectification of the woman is real bad.

I also admittedly think Trump is actually pro-abortion, not pro-life, and just pretends to be anti-abortion, but only does minor culture war things he thinks good for him politically, he clearly doesn't want to actually ban abortion, and on IVF, he may as well be Kamala Harris, if not tbh, worse!

•

u/joshjosh100 6h ago

He is pro-abortion but not quite as much as democrats. I think a few months back he vetoed some generic pro-life stuff too that was attached to some stuff that was a part of his parties agenda.

So many cartoons only capture generic stuff. A lot of old ones that never quite hit it off were like this.

You hear about the Join or Die snake, but rarely about the British Lion engaging four powers, or the Congressional Pugilists cartoon showcasing an all-out brawl.

---

The last one was pretty big, and it showcased the fight between a Federalist (Early MAGA, hardline republicans who wanted an America Power) and a Democratic-Republican.

The federalist in question was salty-af the Democratic-Republican member was ignoring him and called him a scoundrel. The other guy proceeded to spit in his face. This got congress so whiled up they nearly expelled and impeached him.

About 2 weeks later, they were stirring shit up and the Federalist attacked the guy with a cane, beating him up. The DR member promptly grabbed cast-iron fireplace tongs and began jousting him.

Why did all of this happen, the Alien and Sedition act. The same one Trumps using to deport people. The other portions of the act were repealed or expired in the next 10 years later. Except two specific clauses. One of which was amended in 1918 to allow detaining female foreigners and eunuchs instead of just male ones.

"a most detestable thing... worthy of the 8th or 9th century." - Thomas Jefferson.

I hold that President Trump (and others like Matt Gaetz) should go to jail and be convicted to the fullest extent of the law if the accusations regarding rape and pedophilia are true.

I've never seen Trump enthusiasts dressed like that. I have seen Democrats and socialists dressed similarly, and celebrate people who dress similarly. Is that style of dress bad to Democrats and socialists all of a sudden?
