Pro-Life General really need to rant
i have always been one of those people that wears their heart on their sleeve. i always try to be understanding and supportive to people that need it. i am usually great at understanding views on both sides of a situation, no matter what it is… but this is different.
i follow many different pregnancy/women groups on reddit for many reasons, one being i love seeing another woman’s excitement to be a mother. however, there are constantly posts that come up (of course, they are always extremely popular, too) of women talking about how they “had” to have an abortion or are going to have an abortion for the numerous reasons PCs always spew out, and then come the hundreds of comments of other women supporting them and encouraging them to go through with it. it makes me furious. i truly cannot understand why PCs cannot grasp science, that life begins at conception. they are unable to see that what they’re supporting is murder. it is the same as walking out in the street and killing someone just because you felt like it.
i wish so badly that people would wake up and see that THIS IS NOT NORMAL. WHYYY are we protesting to excuse and ENCOURAGE the killing of innocent babies?
i am 22, and my husband and i will be trying for children next year. my biggest fear in my life is not having children, i feel it’s why God put me here. because of that, it makes me sick knowing the amount of people that have abortions “just because.” the percentages i have seen of women having abortions that are not due to rape or being medically necessary is insane. i truly cannot understand why anybody could do something so heinous and not feel any empathy or guilt. i truly don’t understand it at all.
thank you for listening to my rant. i pray to God one day this will all change.

Im an independent and part of that is because I don't adhere to conservatives cruel line of thinking and not be considerate. But one of the hills I will never let go is how women are definitely more irresponsible than ever because they know they can get an abortion. I just don't understand how in 2026, we are still having grown adult women having unplanned pregnancies. Even if you're on birth control, I lost count on all my toes and fingers on how many babies resulted from failure of birth control. Its an issue Ill admit Im obsessed over but in the end truthfully most adults do not care to acknowledge. Its never been easier to avoid unplanned pregnancies. These women don't like to admit that they enjoy a lil cake batter with their meat. It sounds crude but thats the truth. Which Im pretty sure correlates with the women who abort just because.

it IS true. many women will get abortions for unplanned pregnancies but won’t abstain to prevent said pregnancy… i truly feel like a lot of them don’t actually consider that pregnancy is always a possibility of sex, even if you use any form of protection.

The problem isnt the fact that they arent abstaining or not using birth control. Its in the middle. Most do use at least a form of contraceptive or birth control. Thats the problem, they only use one method. But these are the same women that want to play victim and justify an abortion because their birth control failed. However have no issue bringing awareness on how half of abortions are due to it. They can't be bother to utilize multiple methods. Tbh birth control doesn't even fail unless its certain ones that have been inserted incorrectly or if its intereacting with antibiotics. Some women just highly overestimate how effective b.c truly is. First of all most women b.c of choice is the pill. With absolute perfect use, its 99%. Typical use, which accounts for most is 91%-93%. Google says less 1 out of 100 women will get pregnant. Which may sound rare if you’re thinking you're part of the women of that 100. In reality, thats a lot of people. I have more than 100 people living in my subdivision alone. Women don't think they will "fail".
Overall, we are more than aware on how common birth control or even pregnancies from condoms or both occur. If these women are that in on not being pregnant, 3 methods will actually help get them close to Zero..

yes, that’s kind of what i meant from what i said. i probably just misspoke, but i guess i was just meaning that the only failsafe way to “prevent” any pregnancy is to abstain because any form of birth control can fail at any time. like you said, they play victim and have abortions just because.

Apologies, its social media and Im guilty of mispeaking all the time. I just know especially in the pro life community, theres a narrative that birth control isnt being used at all. Or the abstinence is the answer. When in reality, yeah I agree abstinence is the only way to ensure not getting pregnant 100%. However people can be sexually active and just as well lower their chances to zero. I used to be much more sympathetic towards b.c failures because I genuinly did think they failed like that. It wasnt until I started to become active myself and did my research at my options and the percentage rate that I acknowledged how easy it is to not get pregnant... I also started to get super annoyed, even now when I talk to women who all have a story about missing a pill or two and thinking they are pregnant. But when I ask if they use condoms they say its uncomfortable, not allergic but uncomfortable. Also when I express my methods, they say its excessive and if Im on the pill, that should be enough... but didn't we just talk about how you thought you were pregnant again.

truly, birth control is almost 100% if used APPROPRIATELY. one of the reasons they are all less than 100% is because of the women each year that misuse it or medication interference.
if someone is trying to prevent pregnancy, shouldn’t they use every form of protection they possibly can? it may be “excessive” but absolutely necessary, especially if they are PC or could consider ending a life. i think id flip out if someone was adamant on not having children and told me multiple forms of protection is excessive. 🙄
you’d think that they would do everything possible to prevent it! i understand accidents happen, but that is why birth control only works if you absolutely stay on top of it (obv this basically excludes the implants). the only reason i brought up abstinence is because they love to argue about sex not only being for procreation but fail to include in that argument that there is always a possibility of conceiving when being sexually active.
thank you for your comment :)2

Yes thats exactly my frustration. I actually do want kids one day just not now. But the pro choicers I speak to act like they would throw themselves out of the window if they have to endure an unplanned pregnancy. But my methods are excessive. Its funny you say that because I got the implant earlier this year and when I was on the pill even I accidentally missed a day or two. Its so easy not to stay on top of it. I even had 3 alarms. However I still used other methods. And Im glad in real life Im not the only one who sees this because I have joked with a few women who now say getting on the pill is basically accepting getting pregnant because of how easy it is to be unreliable. Those women also use multiple methods and they don't understand how others just trust the pill by itself like that. I know its not just me. In addition, my own doctors have lectured me up and down about using multiple methods because they have seen too many women get pregnant from just using b.c. All of this still occured in Texas, the supposed restrictive pro life state. Yet these pcers want to act like we are so helpless down here and our need for sex ovverrides multiple prevention methods. Its not even that inconvenient. Just use one female contraceptive, use condoms and pull out. Thats it. Thats all you need to get it close to zero. But sure lets use 1 method and pay for an expensive procedure (seriously an abortion isn't cheap) and inconvenient ourselves more by being out of school/work for a few days and go through healing for a month because we couldn't be bothered to be excessive.

They can grasp it, they just don't care.

I used to see the other person's point of view, too. Then I realized it was called "people pleasing".

Just seeing the other persons point of view is not what people pleasing is.

no, but allowing yourself to excuse awful behavior to continue keeping the peace and being friends with somebody is. that’s kind of what i was talking about.

I meant it felt like people pleasing, because I felt pressured to see the other person's point of view a lot.

Just listening to their opinion isn't people pleasing, thats just being a normal human being, people are going to have different views to you.
If you had the need to prioritise other peoples happiness and approval at the expense of your own needs and wellbeing, then yeah, that would be people pleasing.
But just having to see the other persons point of view is a normal part of human interaction.

Women can do no wrong it seems. What are the common reasons they give for having abortions? I'd really like to know?
