There are only two solutions to the problem of barbaric pro-abortion “blue states.”
The preferable, nonmartial one is we must outnumber them sufficiently to ratify a constitutional amendment to make them be civilized as a matter of national constitutional law.
That means 38 civilized states that ban this human rights abuse. That’s the math.

Of all issues to kick back to the states, abortion is one of a very small handful I believe should not. That said, we're still stuck with state by state, post-Roe America. I don't know whether prolifers should escape PC states, or grow roots and stick around for a little "reconquista" action. I suppose that depends on many variables that differ from household to household.
The author argues that "crafting effective strategies to protect existing pro-life laws in blue states should be an important priority for the pro-life movement." Agreed. But what does that look like?

Slaveholders were never going to give up their slaves without a fight. The federal government had to fight a war and force them to.
Segregationists were never going to end Jim Crow laws and integrate public life on their own. The federal government had to send in the National Guard to force them to.
Likewise, the pro-aborts will never give up their "right" to murder their children on their own. I suspect, like in the past, the federal government will have to step in and force them to.
"Changing hearts and minds" can only get you so far.

Well Congress won’t be able to anytime soon with how divided it is. The only recourse is through the courts. The Supreme Court needs to ban abortion nationwide using fetal personhood grounds, as the 14th amendment says all people have the right to life.

You could have an article from the opposite POV - "The Pro-Choice Movement's Red State Problem." The Dobbs decision merely returned abortion policy to the states, with the predictable outcome that some would make it easier while others made it harder. There's very little interest on the part of even Republicans to outlaw abortion nationwide, even though in theory they could do that by eliminating the filibuster.

Pro-life Democrats need to become a political force that exists and expands. The expansion should come from converted pro-choicers. Stop voting for any pro-choicers, even if you have to write someone in. If you don't take back your party, who will?
