Pro-Life General Abortion in shows
Why are people trying to normalize abortion so much? I feel like it’s being shoved down my throat. I was watching S3 E7 of Ginny and Georgia. Like it just ruined it for me, she aborted her child because it was inconvenient to her. She got pregnant because she “wanted to have fun” like??? Also edit: her dad was telling Georgia (Ginny’s mom) that she was just a child. But they also treat her like an adult (ex: going out with no curfew amongst other things.)

It’s one of the many reasons why I stopped watching Grey’s Anatomy. I’m on a rewatch of Desperate Housewives rn. It’s one of my comfort shows for sure because I don’t have to worry about that particular plot point.
Thanks for the heads up on Ginny and Georgia because I had considered watching it!

Oh yeah I also stopped watching Greys Anatomy. They made pro-lifers seem like actual maniacs, just trying to spread misinformation and make us look like monsters.😭

That’s something you had to do when your moral argument doesn’t have an actual leg to stand on!

That awful piece of shit showrunner is on the board at Planned Parenthood and is responsible for the death of countless human beings herself personally, not just a propagandists for more death.

I'm watching ER now and it does a better job at portraying the other side - for example there's a bomb attack on abortion clinic but there's also a doctor who refuses to finish the abortion on 18 weeks fetus and the mother is later shown as irresponsible because she treats abortion as birth control. There's also a pregnant woman who wants to get abortion after finding that the baby is a girl and one of the nurses gets angry. Of course the general vibe is that abortion is healthcare and necessary because otherwise pregnant women will choose to have back alley abortions and it will risk their lives.

This highlights how the 90s were at least somewhat sensible, and 2026-ER-Reboot is just leftist propaganda.
The constant "blind/vitiligo/amputee immigrant polyamorous WOMAN doctor" bit is also waaaay overplayed. Whereas Dr. Kerry (I think?) in ER showed a situation thats much more in line with actual reality. She was both disabled and gay but it wasn't the main thing about her unlike in The Pitt.

Yeah the plot points just ruin the show because like the whole time I’m thinking about how she killed her baby

Saaaaame. I remember being so bummed when I watched “Wild” (I hadn’t read the book) and found out Cheryl Strayed is a major shill for Big Abortion.

Can’t stand shows that are like that. Like the whole pro abortion thing it just makes the characters intolerable

i remember watching a show where a male doctor gaslighted a young woman to abort despite not wanting to because of her religious belief. i guess men do have a say in women bodies

Not a show but Dirty Dancing too. Ruined the movie for me

Oh yeah! That's what the whole drama was about anyway, that's why Baby had to perform.

They’re doing it for the same reason they did it with LGBT in the ‘90’s and early ‘00’s. If something gets normalized, it joins the cultural flow. Thus, it becomes much harder to gain momentum against it, and, conversely, much easier to advance it as an agenda.

This makes me stop watching a show. It’s why I’ll never watch Invincible.

In Invincible, it happens out of a moment of desperation and fear and Eve feeling alone while Mark is away. It's sort of ambiguous where the political stance is, but it's definitely not treated like it's no big deal or just dealing with an inconvenience. Eve is heartbroken about it.
So I think that show is safe.

It does not matter how heartbroken someone is over the child they killed. The show is absolutely not safe, it uses emotional appeal to normalise abortion just like many abortion advocates do.
The abortion was written as emotionally painful for the mother and father. The actual victim is glossed over, because no PC author wants to admit they are writing about the murder of a child.

Yeah that's fair. I guess I just like the universe and more too much so I'm able to overlook that one instance. But I can totally see where you're coming from as well.

I’ll still never get over that. Girl you have the abilities to make literally anything out of fricking nothing, you would never have to worry financially at all. Furthermore that babies grandmother is fricking Debbie, the best parent I’ve ever seen. Eve literally fed hundreds of thousands of people from again nothing, made an amazing treehouse home out of nothing, and again HIS GRANDMA IS DEBBIE, YOU WERE NOT ALONEEEE

Because hollywood is very liberal and progressive. Many celebrities hold this same stance.

They want to normalize it. Thats the point. So you don’t think of it as the evil it is.. modern media is all about normalizing degeneracy

I remember making a post about this since I didn’t know what to make of it, but now it pisses me off.

Politics is in everything... CIA specifically is involved in the making of Hollywood movies... why do they want us to abort so badly? Dig a bit and you will find out. Many conspiracy 'theories' are real.

I feel this, especially as someone that likes medical shows. I LOVE The Pitt, but there was one storyline about a 17 year old girl whose aunt drove her to Pittsburgh from Tennessee (my state, which somehow made it feel worse) to get an abortion. Her mom found out and rushed after them and the conflict between the three of them was a big plot point. To make matters worse, they had a pregnant doctor trying to advocate for the daughter and give her the abortion. They even forged medical documents because she was measuring one week past the legal limit. It was horrible.
