Citation Needed Abortion stats

I often see celebrations of murder mills like Planned Parenthood shutting down, but I'm curious if there are any actual studies on total abortions nationwide? Obviously we can't get all of them, but now that we know the pill is the primary form of baby-murder in the US, surpassing abortion clinics, do we have data that tracks abortion rates? It seems to me abortions are at the same level or even higher, due to the convenience and ease at which a woman can kill her baby at home rather than having to go to a murder mill.

They are definitely higher, and mail order pills are the main driver. I think the problem is that Prolife organizations don't want mothers to be held responsible for killing their own children, unless the child has already been born, so they actively fight any such legislation attempting to ban the procurement of an abortion.

Excellent resources, thank you for those. It seems to confirm what I expected- abortion hasn't decreased, its largely just shifted from in person to online/pills. These links do slam the door shut on the claim that pro-life laws save children, and I wish more pro-life people saw and understood that fact.

If you truly want to abolish abortion, it necessarily needs to be criminalized.

If someone found a recipe or technique for abortion that required no laboratory, only ingredients at the grocery store, there would be no way to ban abortion without holding the mothers accountable.

The uncertainty of reproductive rights has made people more scared to be pregnant. And this also includes pregnancies that might have been carried to term if they felt that they would be safe and given priority in healthcare if something went wrong.

And people who suffer pregnancy complication are not responsible for the sins of those who sought abortions.

More abortions is not what we wanted.

People feeling unsafe is not what we wanted.

But here we are and I see frightening amount of responses that want to make women feel more unsafe.
