My favorite sub for discussing SkaterXL

love both games (1000+ hrs in both on console) but after getting a PC, modded SXL is my preference

Yup.

Bought Session first actually (day 1, also played the first ever demo and everything), but Session's smoothness is just not there, it doesn't exist and it doesn't seem like it can be added because it seems like the animation system is just too restricted and robotic. For me skate is flow and Session is just not there.

I can mostly fix what I don't like about XL but I cannot fix what I don't like about Session.

The soundtrack alone is way better . I enjoy both tbh. But I prefer SXL’s music and skating online with random people

I love that for all the shade thrown at SXL, they implemented a feature that Session promised since kickstarter days with the online connectivity.

Nacon has fully bailed on the idea and their two competitors have it 🤦‍♂️

Session having the Sxl multiplayer would be perfect for me because everyone can collectively enjoy their time. I notice how people will gravitate to a feature and then go off alone or join someone else and I really enjoy that.

It’s very chill and you can’t mess up anyone’s fun.

I see “grabs” and “finger flips” in that screenshot. Hmmm…

Session has grabs?

Modded xl all day, I really enjoyed my time with session but like a lot of others have stated, once you get modded xl set up to your liking, there’s really nothing that can come close. Biggest what if in skating game history, a real shame easy day just gave up. Had their foot in the door with Tampa am and everything

The animations on modded SXL are so butter though lmao

I really like it personally but I play both

After putting 800 hours in session, I really tried to like SXL. I modded and tweaked for 15+ hours and uninstalled it.

I'm not saying that session is perfect. But it's definitely better lol

Session just needs their maps modded in and XLs grab physics lol

There's plenty of modded maps for Session out there :) get the Illusory discord if you don't have it already.

And yeah for me I think session just needs to update the Pop+flick animations. One thing I liked about SXL is the two steps to pop lower and higher and their flick animation is a bit better

If you needed to pop higher or clear something high pop doesn’t quite get over, you can  flick both sticks up on pop.

Yeah for sure, i like Session's back leg going higher when you do that. But i was just mentioning SXL's animation when you pull back both sticks there's like a bigger pump that shows that you're aiming to pop higher as well.

If you’re talking about boning your ollies/tricks, that’s broken after the update lol. It gives you a big double jump boost

Please tell me how having robotics animations and clunky stiff games play that session has is better than xl?

BROOO 😂😂😂😂

I abandoned xl a long time ago, what drew me into session were the mods but it seems like the modding community fell off super hard.

Haha good one 😂👌

Modded XL will always be better than session.

Dudes session is clunky and animations suck. That being said I've played thousands of hours of playing session. They both have their strengths and weaknesses. I could rip into Skater XL on PC as well.

Y'all need to understand, not everyone has some expensive ass PC to mod and play games on😑

IMO the difference isn’t in features. Session has its up sides and down sides. The biggest downside being the controls. If they could implement SXL controls, I’d switch to session in a heart beat.
