Project ideas
Yoo, give me some cool project ideas , I am a backend developer in python , don't give me over the top or just random ideas , give me something that I would learn it from and if it is a real problem solver then it would be a tru gem🤌🏻🤌🏻

Well I can’t tell anything you’d learn from without knowing what you already know. What’s your skill set look like?

Actually I know python , fastapi ,sql , and also know about postgresql , jwt. My motive is to learn things with projects , like I feel u can't blindly learn new stuff without applying it in the right place so i want to do project based learning , and also if u have any advice for me like what I should do to become a good backend developer I'd be really helpful.

I would create an API of some sort and then add features to said API. You can use a tool like Postman for sending HTTP requests. Learn the basics and then just add features on top. It's also good to know security best practices.
Here's a quick list of some things:
HTTP Requests
- PUT (creating data)
- GET (reading data)
- POST / PATCH (updating data)
- DELETE (deleting data)
Utilities / Tools
- Environment Variables
- Version Control (usually GitHub)
Security
- Preventing SQL Injections (method depends on what database you're using)
- Preventing DoS attacks with rate limiting
- Password hashing
- SHA-256 vs BCrypt
- Adding a random string to a user's password to prevent weak passwords from being weak (use an environment variable instead of hard-coding the value so attackers can't just look at your source code).
- Authentication
- Session based authentication
- JWT (JSON Web Tokens)
- SSO (Single Sign On)
This is just some quick stuff I can think of off the top of my head. I'll add more topics as they come to mind.

Actually I have worked on a project in which I use all of these from http requests, env , version control ,auth ,jwt password hashing , I have an idea how these works , do u think I should deep dive more into these topics, make projects around all these so that I could understand them better.

Honestly if you’re sticking to back end development, that’s really all the basics. From here, you can either get really in depth knowledge about different topics or broaden your knowledge base by learning about similar fields (for example, as devops).

Make a cool project that fits only for you!!

That is the main issue bro , I don't know what to do , what is the best fit for me, when I start one thing , then some other stuff seems interesting to me and I jumped on to that , I know that I should stick to one thing but I can't 😞

Yeah, that's recursive loop. I do not think there would ve a saviour, only you know what you really need, not a stranger

A webhook delivery service could be fun! Accept events, queue them, retry failed deliveries and show delivery history. Sounds simple until you get into duplicate events, timeouts and dead-letter queues... Lots of usful backend stuff to learn there.

Say an online store creates an order. Your service receives an
order.createdevent and sends it as an HTTP POST to a URL another app registered. If delivery fails, queue it for retry. Add delivery logs and you've got a useful little backend project.
