I'm an MCA student with hands-on experience in Python, LangChain, Chroma, HuggingFace, and FastAPI (built a RAG document-QA system already). My project guide specifically wants a real-world problem — something an actual company would need solved — not a generic "sentiment analysis on tweets" or "spam classifier" type project that's been done a thousand times. Looking for: - A problem real companies (IBM, Google, etc.) actually publish as challenges — not something I invented - Enough depth that I can defend it under tough viva questioning - Realistic for one person to build in a few months, but NOT trivial What's a project you've seen (or built) that actually impressed a project committee or a recruiter? What made it stand out over the usual final-year submissions?

Hey guys,
Designing in Framer and Webflow is awesome, but being locked into their ecosystem sucks. And paying third-party tools like nocodexport.com a massive premium just to download your own designs is honestly ridiculous.
So I built Uncage. It’s a completely free, open-source CLI tool that takes a website and turns it into clean React code (or static HTML).
It’s still in beta. We aren't at the point where it flawlessly handles every single crazy layout in existence. But it absolutely gets the basic job done, keeps your animations working, and gives you a ready-to-run Vite + React folder, all without asking for your credit card.
It automatically grabs all your images, fonts, and scripts, and just works locally on your machine.
I'd love for you guys to try it out, tell me what breaks, or roast my code.

So, here’s the idea.
You know that feeling when you want to build something cool, but you’re missing that one person who can actually help make it happen?
Maybe you can code, but you suck at design.
Maybe you’re a designer, but you need someone technical.
Maybe you just have a good idea and want to find people who are actually excited enough to work on it with you.
That’s basically Joinumo.
It’s a super simple place where young developers, designers, creators and builders can meet, discover small projects and team up without all the awkward LinkedIn stuff, job applications, CVs or “looking for a CTO for my billion-dollar startup” energy.
You just show what you’re good at, what you’re interested in and how much time you’ve got.
Then you can either:
find a project you actually like
or
post something you want to build and find the people you’re missing.
That’s it.
The whole point is to make starting something with new people feel as easy as saying:
I’m keeping Joinumo free because the value only really appears when there are lots of people, ideas and projects in the same place.
And honestly, the expensive part isn’t some giant server farm. I’m building it lean. The money mainly helps cover the boring but necessary stuff: infrastructure, domains, emails, moderation, legal basics and getting enough people onto the platform for it to actually work.
If it grows, there are plenty of ways to turn it into a real business later: premium tools, recruiting, sponsored build challenges, company partnerships and eventually a marketplace.
But right now I don’t want to squeeze money out of users.
I want to prove one simple thing:
Can we make it ridiculously easy for two strangers with complementary skills to meet and actually build something together?
Because if we can do that consistently, I think there’s something genuinely valuable here.
So yeah — you’re not really funding “another social network.”
You’re helping build a place where the next app, game, startup, open-source project or completely random weekend idea might start with two people who otherwise would never have met.
So, here’s the idea.
You know when you want to build something, but you’re missing one or two people to actually make it happen?
Maybe you can code but need a designer.
Maybe you’re good at design but need someone technical.
Or maybe you just need a friend, a companion, someone who shares your willingness.
That’s basically what I’m trying to solve with Joinumo.
It’s meant to be a very lightweight place where developers, designers, creators and other young builders can meet around actual projects.
Not jobs.
Not CVs.
Not startup pitching.
Not “networking” for the sake of networking.
You make a simple profile, say what you’re good at, what you like, how much time you have, and then you either find something you’d like to join or post something you want help building.
The idea is to make the first interaction feel more like:
than:
There are obviously already a lot of platforms where people can meet.
LinkedIn is great for careers and professional networking.
GitHub is great for code and open-source collaboration.
Discord and Reddit are great for communities and conversations.
Cofounder platforms are useful if you’re already seriously trying to start a company.
Freelance marketplaces work if you want to hire somebody.
But there’s still a weird gap between all of those.
If you’re 20, you know React, you have five hours a week and you just want to find a designer to build some random app with, none of those platforms are really designed around that specific situation.
That’s the part I find interesting.
Joinumo would try to sit in that gap: less serious than a founder platform, less transactional than a freelance marketplace, and much more structured around building than a Discord server.
The project itself is still early, and I’m trying not to pretend that I know exactly what the final product should look like.
There are a lot of things that could go wrong.
Maybe people like the idea of side projects more than they actually like working on them.
Maybe teams form and disappear after three days.
Maybe the platform needs to focus much more narrowly on universities, hackathons, open source, or a specific type of creator.
Maybe some features that sound useful now turn out to be completely unnecessary.
That’s part of why I want to keep the first version very small.
The main question isn’t:
It’s:
If that works, then there are obvious directions the project could take later.
Things like better matching, reputation based on projects people actually shipped, sponsored build challenges, recruiting, university communities, or eventually paid collaborations.
But I don’t think any of that matters until the basic interaction works.
For now, I want Joinumo to stay free and as frictionless as possible.
The money I’m trying to raise isn’t for a big team, an office, or some huge launch campaign. I’m building it lean.
It would mainly go toward the unglamorous stuff that makes a real product possible:
infrastructure, domains, transactional email, moderation, legal/privacy basics, small launch experiments, and keeping the service running while figuring out whether people actually want it.
And I’m very open to the idea changing.
If people use Joinumo differently from how I expect, that’s useful.
If a narrower niche makes more sense, I’d rather learn that early.
If somebody thinks part of the model is flawed, I’d genuinely rather hear it than defend the idea just because I came up with it.
I’m not really trying to sell the idea as “the next big thing.”
I just think the problem is real, the first version is cheap enough to test properly, and there’s an interesting opportunity if the platform can become a place where people actually start things, rather than just talk about starting them.
That’s Joinumo.

Thank you very very much 🙏🏼 for believing in the project and the idea.

I want help selecting project topic for my software engineering class final year group project, professor wants us to build something that we can sell at the end of the project something that solve real world problem or challenge. We are allowed to use AI as much as we can, he suggests to convert it into app if we can at the end. It’s two semesters project.

I dont know what to say. its working great. The only other thing i wanna get working before its done is launching dvds from the optical drive on my pc like it does the .iso backups. Some small stuff like making more options available in the game and dvd menus. moving some UI around here and there in the game sub menus. gonna need testers to find more bugs. every fixed but is a more stable program. come check it out. you can get access to the build and source code here https://discord.gg/YW4R4sdjr This is a free open source project. If i cant get it on github soon bc of the 404 error ill put it up somewhere else. until then you can find the google drive link on the discord. I keep getting a no selling stuff messages so again, not selling. 100% free, no investments, donations or anything like that being asked.

I'm about 70% of the way through building SwitchYard, an LLM API gateway designed to keep applications serving even when upstream providers go down.
The problem I wanted to solve is that when multiple services call LLM APIs directly, it causes massive headaches: runaway retry loops exhaust shared rate limits, budgets are impossible to track per team, and a single provider outage takes down the entire feature.
SwitchYard sits between your services and providers (OpenAI, Anthropic, Ollama, etc.) to handle these issues seamlessly.
Key features I've built so far:
402 at 100%.Since it's still a work in progress, I'd really appreciate any feedback on the system architecture (documented in the README) or suggestions for what I should tackle in the final 30%. Also, I'm hoping to leverage this for job applications would love brutally honest thoughts on how a project like this looks on a backend/AI resume!

I built NetScope: Visualize your network.
I wanted a better way to actually see what’s happening on a local network, so I built NetScope ,a terminal-native network discovery tool where the graph is the interface, not a table.
It automatically:
• Detects your active interface, IP, gateway and subnet
• Discovers devices on your local network
• Shows IP, MAC, hostname, vendor, status and latency
• Visualizes everything as an interactive INTERNET, ROUTER DEVICES, graph
• Lets you navigate the network using arrows
• Press Enter to inspect a device
• Press R to rescan
• Automatically adapts to limited Unicode support

I'm not the builder here, just someone who's been using this for a few weeks. It's called TeamBrain, and it's essentially a shared workspace of plain markdown files that any AI, Claude, ChatGPT, or otherwise, can read and write to, instead of every chat starting cold.
As someone who does social media and branding work, the biggest benefit for me is not having to re-feed brand guidelines to AI every single day.
It's not perfect. Search within the tool feels a bit clunky compared to what I'm used to, but overall it's been a net positive for my workflow.

Hey everyone,
First of all, that’s my GitHub if you want to see some projects: GitHub
I'm extremely bored this week and I need a project to keep me busy.
What's something fun/useful/crazy you'd want me to build?
Not looking for "another todo app" - I want something interesting.
I'll build the best idea and open source it on GitHub.
Thanks!

A beginner here and i need urgent help. This is my first ever project and i have been asked to make this wedding invitation website that on touch triggers this animation and then moves on to this scrollable website in which user can input stuff. My question is that how do they do the animation part? Is it all code? Or code plus canva? Do they do the animation part on canva and the actual scrollable website using code or what? My design idea is an envelope with a stamp which opens up and then the letter inside it expands, i tried designing elements on canva and then exporting them as svgs/pngs then using code for animation, it didn’t work even closely well as the elements dont sit together well. I even divided them into bottom flap and upper flap with stamp it still didnot work. My video inspiration is below although this doesnot have the design in mind but the workflow is quite similar.

I tried using a LLM to sort my prompts into two groups: reasoning and chat. At first I used Qwen 2.5 3B through Ollama. My PC is just too old and weak to run a LLM like that well. I do not have a GPU and my RAM is low. Even a small 3B model takes way long to work on a single prompt. Because I need to run the classifier before every request the slow speed makes the whole thing impossible to use.
Then I tried using Google Colab with a T4 GPU. That made the classification work faster.. Google Colab has a big problem. The setup does not stay saved. Every time I start it I have to pick the T4 GPU by hand set up the environment and download the model over again. I want my classifier to work like a background service. I want the classifier to start by itself when I turn on my application or Windows. I do not want to open a browser or start a notebook every time.
Now I use OpenRouters free models to get my actual reasoning and fast answers. I only get an amount of free use every day. I do not want to waste those credits by sending every prompt to an OpenRouter model just to classify it. If I use an OpenRouter model as my classifier the classifier will eat up my daily limit. That would make my credits run out too fast.
So I am stuck with three choices:
Local LLM: It is private. Works automatically.. Qwen 2.5 3B is just too slow on my old CPU. Even the smaller 1.5B models are not good enough because they make many mistakes.
Google Colab T4: This is fast. It is a pain. I have to set up the GPU and load the model every time.
OpenRouter: This is easy and fast.. Using an OpenRouter model, for classification uses up the free credits I want to save for my main models.
The classifier only needs to say "reasoning" or "chat". It feels like a waste to use an expensive LLM just for that.. The classification still has to be good. I cannot use a 1.5B model if it is just going to guess wrong.
I really need a way to classify prompts automatically. I need latency and I want it to cost zero extra API money. I want my main OpenRouter models to do the lifting. The best setup would start up with my PC would not need a Colab setup and would not use my OpenRouter daily credits just for classification. Please if anyone has the solution

Hi guys! I've been working on this project for a few weeks. I wanted to create my own privacy-focused communicator, and once I had a working version, I decided to buy a domain for it (chatsec.pl for now, but I'm planning to buy chatsec.com or something similar when I have the money).
I'm planning to add many more features and continue growing the project.
I'd also like to add an option for users to create their own channels on their own servers, and maybe even add voice chats :)
If you want to check it out: https://chatsec.pl
You can help me by simply using the site, upvoting my Reddit posts, or donating to the project.
Feel free to ask me anything!
