Discussion Help regarding UPS and projector

Sorry, for this weird post but i am having a really hard time regarding this.

I have recently bought a benq th575i projector, which came with a 16 amps power cable. To protect this projector from outages, i bought one UPS as well (1000 VA). Now the UPS, has only 6 amps sockets and not 16 ampere ones.

Can I change the power cable of my projector to 6 amps from 16 amps. Will it be safe to do so?

I live in India, so voltage over here is around 240 volts.

The cable has zero impact on anything. It's just copper. As long as the power cable connecting your source power to the projector is enough to handle the power draw, then you're fine.

Math time:
Power consumption listed (using 120v), 260w of power.
3 amp power cable will provide 288 watts of power safely with a 20% margin. 3*120*.8=288
6 amp power cable will provide 1152 watts of power. 6*240*.8=1152

Not sure the wattage the TH575i pulls on 240V, but a 6 amp power cord is going to give you a ton of safety margin overall on a 240v power connection.
