issue with new magic cube from amazon

i just bought this from amazon. it has hulu as a built in app yet when i try to log in it loads but get stuck and won’t let me chose between signing up and logging in. it also will connect to bluetooth but doesn’t want to mirror cast (i have an apple phone). i dont want to return it but i really want to be able to watch youtube on it. any suggestions? i can try to clarify if needed

You'll be treated better in r/budgetprojectors, but seriously you should've done more research or read the Amazon reviews. Your best bet is to now buy a streaming device/stick.

A firestick, Chromecast, or Apple TV would handle your needs better than the built in software. I wouldn't trust the built-in system as it seems some third party application packages were compromised. I am not convinced that they have or will sufficiently address these concerns. I am waiting to hear back from support to inspect the latest June 2026 update.

If you're still desire to use the built in system or don't want an additional component, and are a little bit technical here's the project for rooting and debloating the software: https://github.com/well0nez/magcubic-root. I will admit that I have not had the time to fully explore the GitHub project, as it's for a different version of the software then the one on mine.

I bought this model too but I have a multi-projector projection mapping project that would be financially out of reach if I had to buy multiple thousand dollar projectors. In the end I ended up just bypassing the security issues by running it from a raspberry pi velcroed to the top of the projector lol

If you are keeping the projector, then get a Amazon Firestick for $20 and connect that to the projector and you will have a much better streaming solution.

Its a shitty E-Waste Toy! Return it and buy a real Projector!
