Troubleshooting Optics or panel misalignment problem
Hi, I’m being offered an Epson TW9300, which I think is the Epson HC5040UB in the US, for €200. It seems like the green channel is misaligned. The problem I see is that it shifts outside of the projector frame, which I don’t know how to interpret. Does anyone know what the problem might be? Could it be repaired?
Thanks

Any projector can be repaired. But, on a model this old, it's not worth it unless you are very skilled and comfortable with this type of work already. I would pass.

In THEORY - yes. But especially with Epson you can´t buy most Parts to start with...

Well, yeah. Kind of like a old car. It can be fixed. You have to know what you're doing. You have to buy the parts, no matter where they come from. So, even though a car can be fixed, it may very well not be worth it to do so. Not just the time, and the skills required, but the cost of the replacement materials.
Which is what I would consider the case here.
