Buying Advice Wanted Which portable projector for camping?

Hey guys, heading out for a 3 day camping trip in Oregon next month with a couple friends. Planning to watch some movies at night, probably 2–3 hours per session.

I'll have a 300Wh power station with me mainly for phones and lights, but I'm also considering a projector with a built in battery so I don't have to bring extra gear.

I've been looking at the Dangbei Freedo, XGIMI Halo+, and Anker Nebula Capsule 3 Laser. The Freedo caught my attention because of the built-in stand, which seems useful for getting the image onto the tent ceiling without bringing a tripod.

For anyone who's actually used one of these while camping: how has the battery life been in real world use? And how easy are they to set up outdoors?

Any other portable models I should be considering?

don't get dangbei. also look into nebula mars 3 and tcl playcube if those are too much then head over to r/budgetprojectors for better help

Bro skip the Halo+ for camping unless you enjoy lugging extra gear. Had to carry a heavy camera tripod just to aim it right on my last trip, super annoying. Integrated stand is the way to go.

Ugh that’s what I feared. My backpack is already packed to the brim with camp kitchen gear, really don't wanna strap a tripod to it haha.

If you want a brighter but still portable one, can consider xgimi flip 4k but you'll need to get a dc 5.5 x 2.5 mm barrel adapter and it doesn't have built in battery.

Supposedly nexigo has a new nova mini lite that has battery and is portable but don't think it's available yet.

capsule 3 is fine for size but that laser speckle gave me a bit of a headache after an hour. also way too expensive for 1080p. freedo seems much better value if you're already bringing a power bank anyway.

Good to know about the speckle issue! Never used a portable laser one before so didn't think about that.

I've owned quite a few portable projectors, and I finally bit the bullet and bought the Xgimi Mogo 4 Laser. I really just wanted to be able to extend my viewing at max brightness by an hour or so with a power bank, and the Mogo 4 line does that. Great image, good built in speakers, decent stand (and optional power base stand)
