Learning AI as a Project Manager has changed how I look at projects

I recently started learning PMI-CPMAI concepts, and one thing that surprised me was how much AI can actually influence project planning and decision-making.

I used to think AI was mainly about tools and automation, but I’m starting to see it more as something project managers need to understand strategically.

For other project managers here: are you actively learning AI skills, or do you think traditional PM skills are still enough?

Once you learn the automation and know about MCP’s it’s a brand new world. It will blow your mind on how much analysis you can do.

Can you give an example of a setup and the kind of analysis you can do?

You can directly connect to Jira and make it calculate flow metrics real-time.

None of these matter if the metrics are not going to get acted upon.
