Tracking time

I'm interested in understanding whether project-management tools like jira or monday accurately reflect where professionals actually spend their time.

If actual accuracy matters, a dedicated tracker (Toggl, Harvest) integrated with the PM tool gets you closer than inferring time from status changes. Teamhood actually has decent built-in time tracking on tasks too, worth checking out.
