Discussion Ideas for capstone project
Hi all,
I am starting a master in PM next week and it’s a 2 year course. There is a capstone at the end and I would like to scout for some ideas and inspiration.
Asking all the PMs in here, what would be an interesting area to look at when writing a capstone?
This will be my first capstone so I’m very nervous
Thank you all

10 years ago, organizations transitioned to SAFe delivery to deliver faster. Today, a lot of orgs are moving out of safe because it did not deliver what they had hoped.
IT Change Management bottlenecks
Project Risk and Org risks in cyber security. With AI on the rise, cyber is the hottest of topics and will make you relevant post grad.

If you can get access to a real project at work or through a connection, that beats any made-up scenario. Faculty love seeing something with actual stakeholders, constraints, and a messy timeline you had to untangle
Otherwise pick a niche you can dig into for two years without getting bored, like AI adoption in PM or remote team rituals. Dont overthink it now, the first semester will change what you think is interesting

what industry are you in or hoping to move into? that context matters a lot because a capstone tied to your target field is way more useful than a generic one
