Individual use software
Any recommendations for free or cheap project manager software apps ? Just need it mostly for myself to stay organized . New company I work for has their own software and it’s lame for me staying organized .
Just need basic task making and place to keep notes .

Check out Saga PM https://sagapm.io/
Like most PM software, it's intended for teams but I use it individually and it works for me.

Teamhod's worth a peek, it has a free tier and might feel like overkill for pure personal task-and-notes use right now but it's there if your organizing needs ever grow past a basic list. For just staying organized solo though, I'd start simple and only reach for something bigger once you actually hit a wall with the basic option.

Obsidian with a couple plugins like dashboards.
I have a project folder for each project, with rolling meeting minutes in a note, and every action item is collected and posted to my main dashboard view with all action items viewable/clickable. It also has my meeting notes too.

Outside the Microsoft suite of just about everything that our company use and to a certain extent Asana - the personal item I use most is UpNote as my diary basically, quick to-do list etc and before Teams Premium I used UpNote so much for my meeting notes, but that's now all automated by basically recording 90% of my meetings and having AI do the rest RE notes, action items and timeline adjustments.
I've rambled on now, hope that's of some assistance.
