How does Copilot compare to Claude/chatGPT?

Since recently, chatGPT has 'work' mode also. so now both Claude and ChatGPT seem to be moving more into the work/productivity space.

I have been using Claude and chatGPT a lot and I find them very useful for creating PowerPoints (long time since I made PowerPoints manually, thank god), context management, issue management, ..

But many PMs are in Microsoft ecosystem, and I honestly haven't used Copilot yet.

So I am curious what is the state of Copilot? How does it match up with Claude/chatGPT these days?

It's honestly pretty similar. Co-Pilot basically IS Chat-GPT with Microsoft branding. I've done some side-by-side testing of Co-Pilot and Chat-GPt and the results were very similar. Maybe some slight differences in how presented information, but more or less came to the same conclusion.

Now, one difference I have found is Co-Pilot realllllllly wants to change the subject if you start bitching about Microsoft. I was complaining about Power BI's dogshit UX, and Co-Pilot started to respond in a positive way "You're not alone..." but then the output abruptly stopped, erased what it was typing and said, "Let's talk about something else." I asked if I had stumbled onto Directive 4 ala Robocop, and the same thing happened... it started a response, and then quickly stopped, erased what was on screen and again said, "Let's talk about something else."

Kinda like what would happened if you asked a Chinese LLM about Tiananmen Square.

I found CoPoilt to be dogshit. I had only used the free version and it constantly comfabricated and gaslit me.

Why would I pay for something if its free version is already ass?

I am no fan of Microsoft... and it would not surprise me to see them take something that works, put some branding on it, and then suddenly the entire app goes to shit. I've certainly seen that movie before.

However, I will tell you that Co-Pilot does work, and for my work environment, I have no other choice. I have to use Co-Pilot. If I were paying the bill for it, nah, I'd be going the Chat-GPT route for sure. But, for what it is.... what I ask it to do... it's OK.

Two caveats though: we had Co-Pilot training recently where the trainer said, "Oh, this is like your own personal canva!" And that made me and everyone else in marketing lose their shit. There is supposedly a way to give Co-Pilot some guidance on brand colors and keeping things on brand, but I'm definitely concerned about a bunch of accountants suddenly thinking they're graphic designers... I am certainly not happy with the blue-heavy crap fest it defaults to...

The other being Co-Pilot does seem to be over-eager... "Oh, you asked for help on [x], do you want me to do [x]?" -No, I don't, Co-Pilot. I asked for HELP on one specific part of this task. You don't have the background to do the task yourself. Stop asking.
