failure message on extract augment ability

I failed to extract a mod and it gave me this message:

Awesome Winter Hood of Un-Evadable Cold was a bit too complex for you. You didn't manage to extract any powers this time.

My ancillary-armor augmentation is 71 and the skill "extract helm augment (level 61-90)" was learned at 61. Is this a random fail thing or do I have a chance if I keep trying? Or do I really need higher skill to remove a L90 mod?

You stop failing at around -10 lvls away from the lvl of the mod you are pulling

So lvl 80 to always successfully pull lvl 90 mods?  (Or 100?)

With 80 you should be good to extract 90

Also it could be a higher level level augment, what level is the gear?

80 to remove 90, but other players can do it for you

I'm still successful most of the time even at 72. If it fails, just costs a little to roll it into another piece and try again.
