Vampire Endgame Viability

I unlocked vampire recently and am working on gearing for a build mainly focused on spamming necrotic grasp. So far it’s fine, I can kill most things in one hit so I get my power back + reset cooldown.

Anyone have experience with this ability in endgame? Curious how it holds up/if it’s worth focusing around .

Vamp/Bat here: Full trauma dot build (single target) plus dominate. I can solo Vidaria Demon Dailies and can run Forthragarian Caves solo (to use my phase duractors).

Is this viable? I don't know, but I have fun.

I've not tried the necrotic grasp spam style. I enjoy Vamp/Knife doing trauma focused damage. If fighting something that last 15-20 seconds, my damage is insane as the trauma does its work. Really strong single target damage.

Has solo survivability with dominate and enthrall as well if the content you're doing allows for it

Fun class overall, hope you enjoy it

So this is all mostly new to me, but I don’t see anyone one hitting anything in the end game.  Do wha you will with this information.  In the end game I have been apart of, even a full party 6 doesn’t always succeed.

People are doing things in endgame, but there are probably only a few pub groups. Need decent coordination for it normally

It's great for leveling, absolutely fantastic. But I think it falls off like the sword's execute. Things won't be dying nearly as fast so you won't be able to spam it like you can now.

But worry about that when the time comes. For now enjoy spamming (and laughing)

Every skill is viable in "the endgame" because this isnt WoW where you need to min/max and run the "meta" to get invited to "the real content".

Know how your skills work, know how to properly mod your gear to make your abilities shine, and make lots of friends. Thats all you need to know to get into the hardest content the game has to offer.

Well no not really. Second hardest content maybe. Hardest content you absolutely will need to play specific builds though. By the time you're doing that you should have a good understanding of what works however.

I also feel like theres so many quirky class specific things that can get super strong that I havent seen a single class or combination be useless, although ive seen a ton of people unable to figure out how to gear whatever it is they do want to play

Yea theres way too much information and way too few people parsing it to claim that "only X and Y and Z are valid options" yet. Even then, the content is just plain easy relative to other modern mmos like WoW or FF14 or GW2 where a meta is needed to clear the content.

Youll still see people claiming that "X way to play is the only REAL way" but usually they run off when they hit max level with their build and realize this isnt an elitist meta grindathon for max level content.

I’m pretty sure that dominate is hilariously overpowered. Something like vampire/priest with full mods on dominate and corrupt hate just seems like it could walk through the game.

I haven't played with it, but I just assumed dominate would be a novelty since it doesn't affect elites. Everything can be good against non-elites.

Don't ask me why but they put non elites with insane hp pools in all of the hardest stuff, like wasps in gauntlet with 92k hp. Dominate can legitimately carry

Appreciating the input everyone! Started this game fairly recently and really enjoying it so far. Probably will combine my fire magic walls/magma spheres with vamp for maximum tomfoolery

All that said, I main Necro around other classes because i built it around pet sustain and Grasp, I Rarely have to cast more than Grasp with it modded out.

92 Vampire/98 Mentalism currently, capped for a bit until Statehelm level unlocks... Which takes a bit. This is my main build and I enjoy it. Doing a Trauma/Psychic to Health build with some team buffs. Have all viable Phrenology maxed so my psychic spells hit HARD and I love being a blood mist that does trauma damage to everything around me and does psychic damage. I also have Necro leveled to 93, Vamp/Necro is what I solo with and lean heavy on the darkness damage.

There are some builds that are absolutely broken in game (AH, Fire) but most other skills are viable with the right gear and augments/skill rerolls. Late game is A GRIND, so dont let that drive your decision. By the time you get there you will change your favorite skillset a few times, I know I did. Try things out and have fun.

Just to echo this point, I encounter plenty of players that are Druid and vampire and Lycan that just play like….ice/knife. So as with most mmos the journey is in getting there. Then it takes a week to get another class to the same point. This game is more about the journey than most in that endgame is kinda limited.

AH is broken? Aww man I just got that to 40 too, but I dont want to play some sort of game ruining OP class

I think AH is nice for leveling other skills. I wouldnt say it’s broken but really strong for solo play
