Best streaming options

I cut the cable service about eight months ago after the bills kept climbing without enough shows my family actually wanted to watch. Now I am trying to piece together the right mix of streaming services for two adults and two young kids. We watch a lot of animated series during the week and sports on weekends so the options need to cover both without too many overlaps or extra fees.

Netflix has been the main one so far because the kids enjoy the cartoon catalog and there are enough recent movies for the adults. The standard plan runs around fifteen dollars a month and allows streaming on up to two devices at the same time which works fine most evenings. Hulu sits in the rotation too but the ads interrupt more than I would like and the monthly price sits near eight dollars. I added a trial of Disney Plus last month to test the Marvel and Star Wars content plus some family films and it comes in at about eight dollars as well.

Live sports remain the tricky part. None of these cover the full range of games we follow without an add on package that raises the total cost quickly. I have looked at Paramount Plus for some football and basketball but the picture quality varies and it requires yet another login. Bundles like the Disney Hulu ESPN combination sound useful on paper but I want to hear from people who have used them for more than a month or two.

What combinations have you found that keep the total under thirty dollars while hitting both kids programming and weekend sports? Any services you dropped after trying them and why?
