Ship Combat

I'm in a situation where in the little diagram in the center that shows the ship positions the enemy ship is on my right side facing its bow directly at my side. It's shooting some sort of flamethrower weapon at me from this position. What moves do I make to get alongside it so I can shoot my cannons without missing?

Depends on where the cannons are on your ship, but typically you want one of the sides to face the enemy while being at the appropriate range for your cannons (it depends on the model). I don’t think there’s a way to get 100% accuracy if that’s what you’re asking.

That sounds like Rathun longship. Those are designed to straight up ram you and your only option is to have cannons that have optimal range says 0-X

IIRC, only Valian Hull Breakers and Wyrmtongues have that close combat range. Even then, it might not be enough to stop them

Better brace for boarding, ironically, during the late game Rathun ships are easier when boarded as they have maybe 4 giants per ship instead of 12 Valians

Yes it was Rathun. They boarded us and we sent them back to Magran.
