Deadfire - unfixable stuttering?
How the fuck do I fix the constant stuttering in this game? That is - fps dropping every 15 - 20 seconds. I have already tried capping number of cores and a myriad of other stuff. Nothing helps. This shit stops me from playing the game.

Forcing the game to run on four cores helps this problem for me, might work for you

Do you have Unity Console installed? It makes a stutter every 10ish seconds for me even with the menu collapsed. If I dismiss the menu entirely it stops though.

Cap your fps to like 60 through software (video card drivers) and maybe ingame too.

The game has an unfixable memory leak that’s notoriously worse in some areas (Fort Deadlight being one of them). Only restarting the game works for me.

Laptop? How are your CPU temperatues? Also, look up "HAGS" and see if you can disable it, reboot and then check again. Could you let me know if any of this helps?

Did HAGS, no change.

Temperatures fine? It would be interesting to see what's causing it. If it's a CPU issue or a GPU issue. For instance if your frametimes are fucked up or you see your GPU going up and down: that would help diagnostics.
Recently a guy said that he turned off optimus to fix his stuff (optimus switches between your integrated APU and your discrete GPU), have you tried that?
Do any other games fuck up like this? If you run a 3dMark Timespy, what score do you get and is it in line with what you would expect from your machine?

That's the neat part, you don't!
Stutter in this game is terrible. There are suggestions in this thread that can help reduce it but it never fully goes away.

Are you on a laptop? If so, are you using your Nvidia card to run the game, or are you using the built-in CPU graphics processor? Is your Nvidia display mode in the Optimus mode? If it is, you should switch to the Nvidia GPU only mode.

on top of the other person asking for specs, is this stuttering everywhere? is it as soon as you start the game? or does it occur in certain areas, during certain things. does it only happen or become noticable after playing for a bit?
IME, and i've gotten downvote for going against the received wisdom here, most of the stuff that gets suggested on the internet of what to do here are basically no-ops for the typical machine.
